Another Civil Rights movie...

More of the same.
Been there, done that.
Boring!

reply

Not really, more like a biographical musician movie like Walk the Line or Ray. Race and activism play a part since that was her life, but she was a musician first.

I never saved anything for the swim back.

reply

No. Not. I was hoping for a piece about her music and with samples of of and perhaps performances and all I got was this sidetrack into her Civil Rights involvement. She was a great artist at times and it's criminal for them to just focus on the civil rights aspects. Guess you saw a different movie - what were you on?

reply

None of us have seen the movie - it was just a trailer. I see no reason to assume it's only about civil rights and not her music.

I never saved anything for the swim back.

reply

I see, so I'm supposed to completely ignore the content of the trailers now? Feel free if you like, but I'll keep thinking my own thoughts if you don't mind.

reply

The trailer showed her appearing crazy more than anything else.

I never saved anything for the swim back.

Pointless. Goodbye

"A part", but not all, and "blackness" and Civil Rights efforts are not an automatic association.

reply

stop trying to erase her blackness from her music, just so your white supremacy is comfortable

Stop trying to dictate that her blackness is above her music, just so your lemming-inspired, white-guilt-induced, pc opinion is comfortable. To say that you have A LOT to learn about MUSIC is the greatest understatement of my day.

reply

her blackness WAS HER MUSIC. you're trying to erase her struggles through her musc to make your white supremacist self comfortable. it amazes me that white supremacists can hate black bodies but still want to listen to their craft. if only the world loved black people as much as they loved black culture. disgusting

LOL - time to get back on your anti-hysteria meds you raving idiot. I've forgotten more about jazz and blues music than you'll ever know, had more black friends and lovers than you'll ever realize, so can only laugh at your kneejerk, pc-brainwashed reaction. Nina Simone was a great musical artist and that's what I wanted to see. I've seen so many civil rights movies that they are beginning to blend together. Maybe someday you'll get that and look me up and apologize - if you don't get permanently committed before than - LOL!

time to crawl back to stormfromt you fat *beep*. dylan roof and justin bieber have black friends and they're proven white supremacists. so that '' i hav blck friendz an bin to africaaa'' isn't going to work.

you're a typical suspected white supremacist who slums in black culture but hates black people. nothing new to see here.
