I AM BLACK!!

I hope Hollywood keeps doing this.

Seriously!!

A lot of my fellow black people have been PROGRAMMED to THINK "EGOTISTICALLY" and "EMOTIONALLY".

People are actually getting up in arms over something like acting.
This does nothing except BOOST a person's EGO!!

That's all hollywood does.

People are crying about this.

When they should be crying how bad the inner city communities are crumbling.
When they should be crying how many black terrorist are killing in the inner cities.
When they should be crying how about the progressive left screwing up the future.

I could CARE LESS about acting stuff.
I could CARE LESS about who is dark skin or light skin.
These are IRRELEVANT and POINTLESS thinks to worry about.

GET OVER IT HATERS!!!!!!!!

I'm BLACK too!!!!

Guess what believe it or not we can care about several issues at the same time. And I care about little black girls that grow up in a world that tells them their not beautiful. The further you are from eurocentric ideals of beauty the uglier you are. That unless you look like Halle Berry, Paula Patton, or Zoe Saldana you don't symbolize society view of beauty. Colorism is real and it is shaping the views, confidence, and self esteem of young black women everywhere. That may not matter to you, but it mattered to Nina her image was part of what she fought for. Every color is beautiful. There are so few roles for dark skinned black women to begin with what message are we sending to young black girls when even those roles are being made a mockery of with BLACKFACE and prosthetic noses and nappy wigs. Nina was a Gorgeous Queen!

This.

As I grow older, I pay less attention to what people post, I just watch their avatars.

YOU'RE BLACK but you're also pretty mentally slow.

He/she is a troll.

Troll this is not the forum for such a discussion and you are either dense or blind. It's not about hating...it's about how bad a lot of those closeups of her face look. You can clearly see something is wrong with her face.....

reply

Yeah I'd have to agree. Her face looked casket ready.....like someone getting ready to play a role that required lying in a coffin. It was quite distracting to be honest but her performance was stellar as she really did capture the essence of Nina Simone. The director would have been better off leaving her face alone.

We're all black. This is the Internet. Go ahead and care less about the acting stuff, who is dark skin or light skin, and other POINTLESS thinks.
