Evergreen Reference?

Does anyone know what's up with the Evergreen reference in this short? I mean did one of the principals attend Evergreen? I haven't found that any of them have though I am just an amateur researcher. I attended Evergreen and find the reference hilarious but am curious about it's origin. I mean, I'm fairly sure Evergreen isn't widely known. It doesn't have grades or tests or majors so she was right about that, and you do kind of grade yourself through self evaluations and alumnus often make fun of it for it's hippy, weed loving, psychedelic eating nature but I'd assume jokes likes these wouldn't really read to a larger audience.

Anyways, funny stuff, I'm sorry there isn't more Simon & Derek shorts as they are really funny together.
