DVD Release?

I'm assuming this won't be hitting many theaters, but I did read on Copeland's front page of his website that there'll be a DVD release in the coming months. Anyone know any details?

EVERYONE STARES: THE POLICE INSIDE OUT

The dvd 'Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out' will be released worldwide on September 11th 2006 on Universal; there might be a different date of release depending on the countries, but we can confirm that around mid-September you will easily find the dvd on the shelves almost everywhere.

'Everyone Stares': yes, now everyone can see what happened in front of Stewart Copeland eyes while living in The Police, the mega-succesful rock band that from 1978 to 1984 conquered the charts of the whole planet. Stewart used to film everything while on tour, in studio, backstage as well as on stage and collected tons of videorecording from his own videocamera that remained stocked in the shelves of his private home for quite a long time; with the help of computer softwares and new technologies, all those recordings got alive again and are now ready to be shown on a movie format entitled: 'Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out'"

I was never THAT big of a Police Fan, but I dug a lot of their songs and I dug this DVD. Drummer Stewart Copeland was running a home movie camera (with sound) as his band, The Police, takes off. He gives us shots only an insider could get, rehearsals, studio sessions and he seems so UN full of himself. And its synch sound super 8 FILM, (NOT video!) so it looks really cool. This guy seems to have filmed EVERYTHING!!! remember in the “Da doo doo doo” video everyone wondered why he had a camera in his hand?

Now- this is anything we haven’t seen before, backstage with a rock band.. but it is neat seeing the uber egomaniac Sting as one of his peers sees him, and Sting seems to be just being himself in front of his mates, not putting on pretentious airs. Its kinda cool to see how their clothes change from punky T shirts at the beginning to fancy bright colored outfits into the 80s.

Montserrat- the Paul Mccartneys island recording studio- gone due to volcanic eruption.

I really dug how when had the camera in his hand as they ran on stage and then he puts the tripod behind him, and the image shakes as he pounds the drums and we see sting and andy in front of him.

You will onlly get into this if you already like The Police, because it really is just someones home movies, not journalism.
