Why is it that this so-called 'real' sex in mainstream films seems to intrigue people more than the equally 'real' sex in your average porn flick? And even in a film like this one, where it actually _is_ the sex from those porn flicks!.... just wondering...

I think it is becuase in porn sex is, naturally, not a taboo but to put real sex with penetration into a film that can been seen alongside any other regular movies still has an element of mystique about it. It still seems naughty where actual porn has itself become very mainstream. Pornographic scenes in mainstream movies is in a way more underground than porn that is now everywhere.

shareThis is of course different from person to person but I find that films with real sex can be 10 times more arousing than your average porn simply because that's what they have, real sex.
In porn it often feels forced, fake and like no one's really enjoying it. If you take the Larry Clark film in Destricted as an example, you can clearly see that difference between the mid-age pornstar and the guy who gets chosen. In his face you can see everything clearly. It's easy to imagine all the things that are going through his head in this surreal situation. Her appearance is all an act, a lie that's been going on for years. Her moans are unbelievable and she keeps talking classic porn "monologue". *beep* me! Come in my *beep*!
I think people in general, at least me, want the truth. Especially when it comes to sex. That's why "amateur" and "people caught on cam" are popular in the porn industry.
I agree, it's because there's still some taboo about real sex in mainstream, or even artsy films. For that reason I find it infinitely hotter than porn.
