I found her unbelieveable. She tells Joe he is irresponsible because Peyton had an allergy attack. Meanwhile, she has custody of the kid and didn't know where she was for a month. Who would send an eight year old to ballet camp and not make sure she got there. Most people would have dropped her off and made sure the place was safe. She had no right to say anything to him about being a good parent.

She told him that she was allergic to nuts earlier in the movie when he said that he was allergic to cinnamon.
shareI can't believe people are still posting about this movie. I liked the movie and so did my family. Why are you blaming Paige Turco for her role as Karen Kelly? All she's doing is working with the script and character written for her.
Blame the writers for the scenario because in hindsight I personally thought Paige did a great job.

Maybe, but the character of Karen was just as much irresponsible when it's revealed that she
1. Went to Africa without Peyton.
2. Put her on a plane to "Ballet camp"
3. Didn't even check up to make sure that this kid MADE it to the camp.
4. And in fact didn't even know this for an entire month.
The fact that she didn't call the camp to make sure Peyton was there, not to mention didn't figure this out for an entire month, just shows that she was no more "responsible" than Joe. In fact Joe was probably more responsible than she was.
