The little girl is a brat.

YES, this is just a movie and YES, it is a comedy. However, the little girl, Payton, is nothing but a spoiled little brat. You are free to agree or disagree and remember it is a movie.

reply

I wanted to duct tape her "cute" little mouth about ten minutes after she got on the screen. Sitting through this drek was quite challenging. (I kinda like the Rock too).

reply

She was an extremely inconsistent character. One second she's Ms. Bleeding-Heart Moral, going so far as to preach at a person for saying "stupid" (such a naughty word!). Then, five seconds later, she's threatening to ruin her father's career by telling the media he gave her a margarita if she doesn't get her way and then she's sabotaging his date.

reply

The character of the little girl is a manipulative dishonest stupid whiny little brat.

I wanted her to pretty much die through the entire time I was watching this movie. On the upside, her horrible "witch from Hell" personality made "The Rock" a distinctly sympathetic character which everyone could feel sorry for. The manipulative social worker was a dislikable brat as well, always demanding stuff from the character of Joe and never demanding a single bit of self-control from the little hellspawned girl. The daughter character should have been shipped off to a nanny and then spanked regularly until she realized that the entire world did not exist just to please her.

And then after lying to Joe for month, the little girl ends up in a hospital because she failed to tell Joe that she had some serious allergies (which the girl had no moral problem sickening Joe with just to seriously harm him), the horrible worthless brat-creature then decides to leave Joe after destroying his property and torturing him for 30 days.

I decided to not watch the end of this movie with 15 minutes left. I stopped when the Peyton-demon-child returned to declare that "She thought Joe would be better off without her." I now prefer to believe that Joe slapped the child-creep solidly, she landed hard on the floor with a skull-cracking thud, the girl is then rapidly removed to Juvenile Detention Facility for stealing Joe's property, and Joe went on to win the football game. Joe then goes to an adoption agency to fill his need for raising a girl child and finds a wonderful little orphan girl which he grows to care for emotionally. The movie ends with Joe and the now-adopted wonderful orphan girl going to Disneyland. When the credits end rolling, we cut to a scene of the girl-beast Peyton making demands of the much more brutal girls in kid-jail and before the film fades to black, we see Peyton's backlit corpse hanging from a noose in the cell. A short happy tune plays.

reply

I wanted to correct your third paragraph. Peyton mentioned that she was allergic to nuts in the beginning after Joe told her that he was allergic to cinnamon. Joe just forgot.

And how cruel of you all to think that way about a CHILD!

reply

[deleted]

While technically she DID say she was allergic to nuts, she said it in such a way that there was no possibility that Joe could have heard her. She practically mumbled it.

She was losing the argument at the end of the movie. Her lie and emotional manipulation had been exposed and Joe was starting to grow a spine, so she ate the pie on purpose to put her in the hospital and get everybody back on her side. After all, what kind of heartless bastard would be angry at a little girl in the hospital?

This girl is the devil.

matrix29, I didn't think I'd post again on this thread since it's run itself into the ground, but,

Bravo

That was hilarious and more than a bit true regarding her character.

I like the Rock but to properly like a movie you can't be biased toward any actor. It clouds the judgement of the film in question. I only mention this because a few people on this thread seem to like this movie based on their love for the Rock. Having the Rock and feces starring in the same movie doesn't wash the Rock clean of the filth.

This girl was super annoying. Most annoying kid actress ever in the history of cinema. I cannot recall anyone half as annoying. This movie offended me so many times and I didnt watch more than portions here and there. ANd when the girl's aunt returned to lay that guilt trip on The Rock, I wanted to see someone slap that b***h silly.

reply

[deleted]

She played the exact same character in the TV show Corey in the House.

reply

How many of you are over 18? Grow up trolls. Only a sociopathic attention getter would make fun of a little kid like that.

reply

Kinda creepy of you to be checking out info of a little girl when you don't hate her. I may be a sociopath attention getter, but you...UGH.

reply

That made no sense e tard. You fail at the interweb. Quit evading emo kid.

reply

HAHAHA, take some grammar and vocabulary lessons. Fighting with some "emo" kid you don't know? What a pathetic loser. Common loser and reply, I know that your dying to pick a fight with someone you don't know.

reply

Typical troll response. If you want attention go hug your mom or dad, and if they are not around go hug your teacher. Looking for attention on the internet is like running a marathon with a Wii. It's just pathetic. Oh and about my grammar maybe I would take that into consideration if you wrote in human.

reply

A person isn't a troll for saying someone is extremely annoying in a movie regardless of age, race...etc.

I personally wanted to have her quiet throughout 90% of this film. I'm sure she's a nice little girl in real life but in this movie she was annoying concentrated feces.

Trolls are people that start fights on purpose or disagree just to see a reaction on the boards. MOST of the people on this thread are just venting their much deserved opinion.

reply

Logic I think the part about where he wanted her to die with the peanuts says it all. STFU.

reply

[deleted]

[deleted]

That line tWIST said about the peanut is inconsequential and not worth getting twisted out of shape about. But if this is to continue on this thread then all I can do is sit back and have a bag full of chuckles. And telling people to STFU when they weren't even being rude towards you is a sign that people like conflict no matter how miniscule the event at hand is.

reply

Thank you logic404, finally someone with a brain and maturity. That guy is just bitter because he is probably 40 an still lives in his mom's basement. And just like logic 404, I am enjoying this and seeing how low our society has gotten. No matter what you say, you know i am right and it kills you. Peace out everyone!

reply

Yea, you're right, that "character" was an annoying train wreck to further "help" this movie. I couldn't stand her at all. Plus, if Twist doesn't like her (and apparently everyone in this board practically feel the same way), then that doesn't make him or any of them trolls. It's so stupid when everytime somebody contradict's another's opinions they get inmediately labeled as "trolls". Such an idiotic name driveling out of so many imdb users, it gets rather pathetic everytime you read a board where somebody is called a troll after another disagrees with their point of view. It's an opinion, he's free to have it and post it if he wants to, sitting there bitterly and insulting him by calling him "emo, virgin, attention seeker" and all those little ignorant insults you sprayed throught your post are just a sign of your maturity level. Grow up and learn to respect other people and their thoughts.

PS: Payton was the worst character of this movie (stupid is a really bad word... OH COME ON!!)

reply

I think it's pretty stupid when a troll says stuff like they hope that little girl dies, and then all the adolescent keyboard tough guys come out to stroke and pet the feeble minded idiot.

reply

I think its stupid when the supposed mature "adult" insults and stoops down to the level of the supposed adolescent keyboard tough guys whom clearly he thinks are "immature" when, actually, he's proving himself to be at same or lower than them by constantly waiting for a new reply so he can inmediately dash and tell off the new "troll" of the message board by insutling them with new names like "feeble minded idiot". Pity...

reply

Well that's how the WWE does things. One person after another try to top each other with "tough" comments or actions. I say let them have the last word and feel glorious in their own little world. Meanwhile I'll be over here ignoring feeble attempts to get me to put on tights.

reply

wow javibrow you proved my point. Thanks. Oh, I just would like to add another thank you to the individuals supporting people who want little kids to die, and enjoy belittling and calling them unpleasant names. It makes me realize how weak you are. When someone says something to you ya go crying and whining to each other. I guess its true that people who pick on children really are weak minded and feeble individuals.

reply

The "character" of Peyton WAS a little bitch in this movie. Let me say it again. Her "CHARACTER". In real life, like I said in one of my earlier posts, the girl playing Peyton is PROBABLY a normal well adjusted little girl but in this film - feces. I've seen people say alot worse then that on these boards but they are usually venting about the "character" not the real person.

jluvdr, you act like people are really considering homicide towards that actress and to me that's taking things a bit to seriously.

reply

Ugh, you jus't dont get it do you? Who in their right mind would think that he really wanted the girl to die? Maybe he wanted her character to die, or just was exagarated and/or funny (in a sarcastic, wierd sort of way) post expressing his dislike of Payton. Yea, in case you didn't know, Payton doesn't exist. Madison Pettis does, and nowhere did he say he wanted HER to die. And if he did? Who cares, not like his gonna hunt her out to fulfill his "secret" agenda (If he does, well we'll learn about it on the news). In any ways, constantly insulting someone (especially adolescents as you call us) is just the lowest form of argumentation or "comebacks", lame as they are.

a seriously inconsistent character, one minute whiney then preaching infantile morals. she's 8. her dad spent years building up his empire just to have it scupped by a brat who wanted her fathers total attention. she had no respect for his stuff and treated him terribley when she didnlt get his own way...not a bad film but payton's character needed a little work

Um, this little girl lost her mother recently and managed to find her father. Yes, she was a brat but I thought she was cute as well. This movie similar to the old Walt Disney teen/parent movies. I enjoyed it.

reply

yes the little girl was a fricken brat.....but honestly her mother just died....she acted like a kid....run away.

I personally didnt have any problem watching the child on screen!

Maybe 1-2 scenes were there where she was annoying. Apart from that it was pretty ok.

1 thing I would like to add is that I watched the dubbed version so it was not her voice. Maybe she would have been more annoying in English!
