gruesome?
so what's the deal was the title changed to "gruesome"?
shareThe original title was "Gruesome" and was changed to "Salvage"...
sharethey now added to the bottom of http://www.salvagemovie.com/
it says "This film is being marketed outside the US as Gruesome"
Gruesome is a terrible title and one that will make the European market assume that this yet another lame Teen horror. What are these people even thinking?
Ask yourself this; If you went to the horror section of a dvd rental place and saw 'Gruesome' amongst Deranged, Frenzy, Deviant or whatever else, why would you assume it to be anything other than a straight to video piece of *beep*
Salvage may not be a great title but it may pique a little more interest.
Ah, that explains it. I was a bit mystified by the "Gruesome" name, when it could not be found here in IMDB (it still hasn't been added as an alternate title). I am not sure I would say either name fits, but I agree will ALL comments re: Gruesome being a name asociated with some stupid hacker/slash flick, and this movie is a far cry from that in it's very good psychological horror-thriller story.

the original title was always salvage.
i worked on the film and it got changed when it was sold.
I guess "Gruesome" is easy to translate into different languages. Who knows what distributors are thinking.
While there were one or two Gruesome bits, when I saw it at leeds I was kind of mystified by the name.
shareThis DVD is a part of my collection, but its title is "Gruesome", it has neither been translated nor changed here in Germany. I've almost gone crazy when I was looking for this title here on imdb!
Well, but I have to admit that the cover picture attracted me more than the title which is kinda inexpressively.
