Tae Kwon Do Is the Real Deal

Just to put some misconceptions aside. I think I posted this story on another board as well a while back.

I was hanging out in a bar, and I overhear some guy talking about how he had just watched a UFC match on TV. He's telling his friends, "Oh in UFC they use Brazilian Ju Jitsu, it's the most effective," yada, yada, yada, like he's some kind of expert. Then I hear him say, "Tae Kwon Do is crap," which makes my ears perk up, because I have studied this art, and I do not take kindly to this simpleton disrespecting it.

So I casually walk around the bar and then do a reverse hook kick to his head/face, and he goes down cold.

I heard from someone later that the guy had to get hundreds of dollars in dental work, LOL.

Needless to say, I didn't see him in that bar in the future. Coincidence? I think not.

reply

Ha ha if this is true, which I seriously doubt, you should go to prison for assault.

reply

Not going to happen. My kick was so swift he didn't see my face. I haven't gone back to that bar since though just in case someone tries to rat me out.

reply

Yeah but I'm sure his friends would've seen it and would be witnesses.
If they're all such UFC fanatics, I'm surprised an act of violence like that wouldn't suddenly spark them to start a fight with you.

Oh yeah of course.. you'd just beat them all up with your elite TKD skills wouldn't you??

Not to mention, there would be many other witnesses in the form of other bystanders in that bar. So many people could have easily reported you.

Seriously you're one incredibly stupid liar.
You think you can honestly get away with an obvious BS story like that??

Also you think proudly telling a story like that makes you seem cool or tough or something? Or you think any reasonable intelligent person would praise you for doing that??

You must be some pathetic diminished loser to make up stories like this to make yourself feel good.

reply

Did I touch a nerve? LOL. Looks like we got a butthurt BJJ fan in the corner here.

Dude, this is a local bar in a smallish city. Nobody is going to rat me out if I stay away from that particular bar for a while.

reply

I flamed you because you're a liar who seems to think that beating up people is cool.

Nothing to do with being a BJJ fan which I am not.
The guy you lied about knocking out could be a wrestling fan, an MMA fan, whatever I couldn't care less and I'd still be pissed off about your attitude.

Anyway, I don't know why I took this so personally.
I shouldn't care and shouldn't have commented.

If you think it's great to beat people up and injure them. Fine.

reply

I do what I must to protect the honor of my chosen art. If that guy didn't want a kick to the face, he shouldn't have disrespected the name of Tae Kwon Do in the first place. He started it.

reply

Also you already contradicted yourself in your BS story and proven you're just full of s**t.

First you say:

"Needless to say, I didn't see him in that bar in the future. Coincidence? I think not."

Which IMPLIES that you were still hanging out at the bar.
How else would you know that he hasn't gone back to the bar if you didn't keep going back to the bar to know that?

But then later you say..

"I haven't gone back to that bar since though just in case someone tries to rat me out."

So you haven't been at the bar since then.
If you haven't been there, how would you know he hasn't shown up either??

I shouldn't even bother discussing this because you're obviously lying anyway.

reply

It's a small town, I haven't seen him around that bar, going in, going out, standing outside of it for a cig, or anything! He's definitely avoiding it lest he need be taught another lesson.

reply

And you told the story to your master? Most serious teachers i know would kick out any student that showed such a violent behaviour.

reply

Sorry, how is that something to be proud of, anyone can do that, doesn't have to be any martial arts expert. Some dude's drinking in the bar, talking to his friends and then you sneak up on him and smash his face. What? Without a warning or a "Let's take this outside"? You never even challenged him to an actual fight, just walked by and smashed his face in while he was distracted, minding his own business? Yeah, doesn't seem very fair, I don't care if you're BJJ or TKD that's a pretty douchey move.

reply

The fact that I have studied TKD definitely contributed to the accuracy and power of my kick.

reply

Troll Kwon Do more like

reply

As a representative of your chosen art, the actions you took and the way you speak of what you did (which I do not believe your story for a second, don't confuse yourself there) are disgraceful.

You have to understand that not everyone will agree with the way your art is practiced and probably have never seen the real deal trained. Have you seen martial arts in America? Can you really blame him for saying what he did about TKD? Instead of doing what you did (which you didn't do. You're full of it) you could have bought the man a beer and talked with him about fighting and the art and maybe you would have opened his eyes, maybe not. Doesn't matter. The supposed route that you took shows that you're a low level martial artist. I don't care what degree black belt you most definitely are, as I can tell by reading about your superior speed and skill over an inebriated bar patron. That's not what the previous statement is referring to.

With martial arts, there is a maturation of the mind, body, and spirit. Even though I don't train in TKD, your actions and the way you carry yourself make me feel ashamed and angry. It's because of martial artists like you that I don't advertise my training. You bring shame to yourself and to the art. And before you even start in on it, yes, I told I trained on here. The world knows that Carl Caliente trains in some art. If you really believe that's my real name, holdek01, you do have problems.

reply

And then OP, you woke up.

reply

LOL at all the serious responses in here. You all haven't seen that scene in the movie that he was playing off of or are seriously dumb to just not read between the lines. This movie wasn't for you then anyways. Morons.

reply

This thread is definitely one of the more entertaining I've come across. Usually, the message boards are full of Happy Birthdays to actors people never met, other people saying a movie or actor sucks, while the other dimented posters call those people haters or trolls.

The OP story was hilarious and the responses were even better.

Good stuff here. Thanks all.

reply

TKD sucks. It plain sucks.
