She was a big enabler. She should have left him long ago, but for some reason stayed way past the time she should of, esp. for those poor kids. God knows what sort of messes they'll be when the grow up, esp. the older one.
shareYou might find yourself being "dramatic" too while dealing with a narcissistic crackhead who videotapes everything all the time. She seemed surprisingly stable and tolerant to me, actually. I probably would have poisoned that guy's whiskey years earlier.
Remember when he was justifying beating her in front of his kid because she threw a pair of baby overalls at him and WAAAH the button hit him in the eye...which looked completely fine. Then, he tried to make the cops take the kids into protective custody to spite his wife, when he knew they were fine with her, and that would have completely traumatized them. He was the drama queen in that relationship.
And his poor older son, you could tell at the end that he was broken-spirited, depressed and overweight.
Yeah. The wife was surprisingly understanding. Makes me wonder what her life as a child was to become so tolerant.

Rick was a self-destructive, narcissistic egomaniac. In spite of how he claimed to care so much for his family, his behavior completely contradicted that. His wife should've walked out on him a long time ago. If anybody was a drama queen, it was that loser, putting everything on videotape with no care for his family who was forced to be a part of that.

This is a live statement: I'm watching this doc on BBC (UK) for over the last hour. I jumped into IMDB to check out some reviews and happed across this thread.
I haven't even finished watching this doc yet and I'm 110% certain that this guy is a total twat of the top-marks selfish variety.
This guy blatantly appeared to be an arrogant tit, even when when clean and sober. Drugs only appeared to make him a whole lot worse. Ultimately, an arse is an arse, sober or high.
I've just watched the part when it looks as if he slapped his wife around, his son is crying, the Police arrive, etc. What kind of man is he? His wife through a item of kiddy clothing at him and he attempts to justify his actions by virtue of this!! Almost unbelievable.
He might not want our pity, but I can’t help pitying his poor kids, who are on on celluloid forever due to their father filming his enormous ego 24/7 since he was 14.
This guy deserves a right good kick up the arse.
