my view

I loved this movie, and yes, hes crazy for filming every single moment. I have no complaints about the ending though, the whole film was about him trying to stay clean, it was him relapsing after already having interventions and had gone to rehab. Its not like it was all 'This is the greatest life ever' beginning part when you first start using. I also like the fact that it shows anyone and everyone has struggles, no matter how talented and succesful you are. its easy to see why a orphaned teenager living on the streets in the ghetto would want to use.its easy to think youre not addicted if you dont have to steal and live on the streets for it.
I dont agree with how he handled it with his kids though. they should be kept out of things like this, not used as leverage.

Yeah, the one thing that really hit me as the worst thing was when he tried to propagandize the kids ... he was pretty shameless and disgusting.

It's hard to really tell what was going on with him, but I don't think he liked being married, maybe he was gay, or maybe he had some really traumatic childhood thing or whatever that never came up. They did not cover his path to drugs very well.

If I am skeptical it has to be because I figure he made this film for money, and so he did the absolute minimum or revelations about what he is really like, but enough to tell a story to sell tickets - like a scared straight show ... which usually do not have much truth in them, but are told for a reason.

Still, it's a pretty good movie, and about as real as they get, so that deserves 10/10 to me.
