It was changed to avoid confusion with Marc Forster's 'Stay'.

A lot of times it's not the director.. The writer will title the film.. Then, the director may decide to change it before it goes to festival or something.. But usually, if there's a change after the film is sold, it's because the production company feels that it would do better with another title.
