Jeremy's Contradictions

I am thoroughly ashamed of myself for admitting to being on a Jeremy Kyle Show binge over the past week or so, I think I might need help but anyway...

Jeremy contradicts himself so many times, it's unbelievable! There was one show a mother appeared who'd kicked her son out because he had been violent towards her and was a drug addict and Jeremy took the sons side and turned on the mother saying 'Where I come from you don't abandon your kids!'. Then in another episode there was a woman who's son was still living with her, he was a drug addict and had been violent towards her and Jeremy was telling her to kick her son out.

Another thing Jeremy does time and time again is slate people off for not working yet in certain episodes he will have a go at blokes for not being able to do something because they were at work and he's like 'Your child should be more important than any job!'.

He's also known to treat men who have physically assaulted their girlfriends or wives like muck but he tiptoes around women who have been physically abusive to their partners. In one case the girl had stabbed her boyfriend and she claimed she'd done it because he'd cheated on her and as soon as the bloke came out on stage Jeremy was like 'I bet you have cheated on her!'. He would NEVER let a man use cheating as an excuse for violence but he seems to let that slide when it comes to female guests.

Drugs is another issue he changes his mind on constantly. He makes a big deal about some of his guests smoking weed yet in other episodes he'll stick up for someone for 'only' smoking weed.

Another case is a mother who reported her son to the police for drug dealing and Jeremy couldn't believe she'd turned her son in yet in another episode he was telling a mother she should have him reported to the police and she was doing the wrong thing by protecting him.

It's actually funny watching the show just to pick out all the things he changes his mind on.

He definitely knows the results beforehand, he always makes a big deal about saying 'I don't know what the results are!' but you can tell that he does. The thing is, he always picks a side in whatever story he is dealing with.

There was one episode involving a young couple who had both taken lie detector tests, he was totally on the boy's side and called his girlfriend a 'trollop' which caused her to run off stage crying. She ended up backstage with Graeme and refused to come back out and face Jeremy, it turns out she'd been suffering from depression and low self esteem so Jeremy's comment hurt her quite badly. She passed her lie detector and the boy, who Jeremy had championed from the beginning, failed every question but they both had a good old laugh and joke about it. It was horrible to watch as it felt like two schoolboys ganging up on someone who was clearly vulnerable and in need of support.

There's also been a rise in the number of fights and security interventions on the show over the past couple of years. I think the background staff, who are supposed to be caring for the guests, actually wind them up just before they go on stage so they'll kick off once they get out there. I would say it amazes me that the show is still going but unfortunately it doesn't, a lot of people see an appearance on the Kyle show as something to be proud of and a badge of honour almost.
