Why is this show on Animal Planet?

I am alittle confused why this show is on the Animal Planet. It's about people overcoming situations where they probably should have died, but didn't. I would understand if it somehow incorroporated animals saving peoples lives or even surviving with their owners... please someone, explain...??

But if the networks standards were "just feature any show about animals AND any show containing a person" then it's not really that selective is it?

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that, I'll be over here, looking through your stuff

I agree. We're a type of ape. It's not bizarre humans are on a channel about animals. We count too.

Just SHHHHH already OP. I'm glad to have this excellent show back on at all!

There are a couple thousand other networks dedicated to shows about humans.

Animal Planet has gone really far downhill... seems like all they ever show are "when animals attack" specials and crap like Whale Wars (which only harms the anti-whaling movement by associating it with useless vegan attention-wh**es and scaring away rational folks) these days.

I agree. I see now why I haven't watched this channel in years. It used to be a reliable standby whenever there was nothing on other channels. It seems all the more sophisticated channels are being dumbed down. Remember A&E stands for Arts & Entertainment? It used to be high-brow and now it's all about mental illnesses and criminals.

As for the show, it's hard to feel sorry for a lot of these people stupidly putting themselves in danger. This episode particularly (A Family's Desert Hell) makes you angry at almost everyone in it.

I certainly hope somebody somewhere is learning something from this, but there are plenty of other channels for it to be on.

For the same reason Pawn Stars, Ax Men and Ice Road Truckers are on the History Channel when they have absolutely nothing to do with history.

And the reason is.....?

reply

They obviously think these shows will get better ratings than alternatives that fit the general premise of the channel better. Can it really be that hard to figure out?
