Brendon's weight!!!

This may have come up before, but this movie has only just been released on DVD in the UK.

How much weight has Brendon put on recently???

Did he gain the weight for the role or is this his usual size now?

I have a question for you: if you are interested in him / his life (which you obviously are, since you ask a question ABOUT an aspect of his life), how hard is it to make sure you actually get the guy's NAME right? (Especially when you have the option and opportunity of having it displayed right in front of your eyeballs before putting fingers to keyboard to post?)

I'm not trying to be mean, I just don't get it.

Once again, a poster on IMDB (this time Monknificent) proves that some of the rudest folks on the web are regular posters on IMDB.

reply

Hmm. I question the astuteness of your comment. In what way was I rude when I made a simple and true observation? I may have done it without kid gloves, but I was not aggressive nor insulting. I made what any sane person would surely agree is a fair point.
And since when are people so HYPER-sensitive on the internet??

Personally I think it's ruder to get someone's name wrong when that information is clearly visible a single mouse click away.

You either need thicker skin or a recalibration of the definition of the word "rude".

reply

Nobody cares how his name is spelled.

reply

People who care how his name is spelled:

1. Brendan Fraser.
2. The studios who employ him to make movies starring Brendan Fraser.
3. Companies designing and printing the posters for movies starring Brendan Fraser.
4. Fans of Brendan Fraser.
5. The Internal Revenue Service.
...and many more

reply

People who don't care: Everyone who would have read your comment.

People who don't care: Everyone who would have read your comment.

Well done for coming up with an idiotic paradox.

WHY would they have READ my comment if they didn't care??
The VERY FACT that they READ it means they cared enough to read it.

reply

They read it because they thought you might actually have something to say about the topic at hand; Brendan's embarrassing fatness. How were they supposed to know that your comment was useless until after they read it?

reply

They might have a clue as to what the post is about by reading just the subtopic heading:
"People who care how his name is spelled: "

Also, and perhaps even more obviously, by reading YOUR previous post which my post was a reply to - that would have given anybody a clue as to what it may be about.

Then they can stop reading if it doesn't interest them. As you could have. But didn't.
Are you a masochist or are you perhaps a big fat liar, and you ARE, in fact, interested??

reply

I'm sorry to weigh in, Monknificent, but your comment was rude - or, at the very least, irritating. If someone makes a typo, or has a temp lapse of memory, we don't need someone else pointing that out in the snide way you did. You wouldn't like it if someone did it to you. However, the person who apologizes for a mistake or oversight, instead of getting defensive and trying to take down other people, when they point out the rudeness shows humility and an understanding of what is really important. It doesn't matter when we make mistakes, cos we all do. But those of us who can say, 'Ok, I could have put that better. Sorry if I gave offense,' come out looking absolutely marvellous, because they've shown sensitivity for another person's feelings. And this is what is important. This is what impresses others. The abusive posters on YouTube (where rudeness is rampant) come across as childish, unpleasant and not very bright -- certainly not people we'd like to know.

Monknificent has a point. The man's name should at least be spelled correctly before one comments on his physical appearance.

The man's name is Brendan Fraser. not Brendon Fraiser or Brenden Frazer or any other combination of any thing.

Ph uck who cares if he spelt the dudes name wrong!
your opinion is the wrong one!

reply

Do YOU know who the person was talking about? yes? communication achieved.

If you do not "get" that... I'm saying it doesn't matter. Anyone stressing over it has issues they should attempt to resolve before attempting to interact.

reply

It's not an issue of communication / miscommunication.
It's a simple issue of respect / being interested in someone / being a fan.

If I was interested in a person, at whatever level - romantically, as a fan, as a potential friend, as a mentor or a protegé - the very first, most basic thing would be to get their name right, don't you think?

Also, you might note from my relaxed tone in all my posts in this thread that I was never stressing over any aspect of this.

in the special features he talks of putting it on for the movie...i must say, however, he does look very distinguished and actually cuter this way, i think...

reply

He's been fat in a lot of movies since 2000 - remember Mummy 3 compared to the first one ?

reply

He kinda reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield with his fat face and bug-eyes.

I was wondering how much did Brandon Frasier gain for this movie since he looked as though he was really out of shape compared to the 3rd Mummy film and the Journey to the Center of the Earth in which he was more physically fit.

reply

My guess was that he put at least some of it on for the role (and that's apparently confirmed above, re the commentary). The scene with him in his wife's jogging suit was far funnier with Fraser being heavier.

He's been a fat tùrd for at least 9 years now - get over trying to defend him by saying it's for his movies - he's a McDonalds Taco Bell buitterball slob - nothing else.

reply

You're an ass. Apprently you haven't seen any of his films in the last 8 years. He's still buff in nearly all of them.

reply

Brendan's Fraser's paunchiness took me by surprise. But he is funnier than ever in this.
