The Psychic Loves His Food?!

Was there some sort of underlying message or injoke in this film about the paranormal investigator (Professeur De Sorgues I presume from the credits?) always eating junk food with several particularly thin references to what was presumably McDonalds?
Unusual but funny & camp little film by the way-Made for an interesting night in!
