The ending is inaccurate

Between 1966 to 1969 David & Maureen Smith had their three sons. In 1969 David was jailed & released in 1971, he moved in with the family of his girlfriend who the following year became his 2nd wife. David & his 2nd wife had a little girl. Maureen had given up her sons as she could not cope on her own whilst David was in prison. Maureen & David fought for custody of the three boys but David & his 2nd wife got the boys.

When Maureen visits Hindley in jail, Hindley by that time had gone from 12 stone to 7 stone although this would have been hard to depict. Also when Hindley gives Maureen the photos of Brady this is rubbish as she tells Maureen she does not want anything to do with the past. When Hindley died amongst her possesions was a 21st birthday watch bought by Brady to mark the killing of Pauline Reade. Hindley had even kept the registration documents of the vehicles she owned & which were used in the abductions of the children. To add insult to injury her final request was that her ashes be scattered on Saddleworth Moor (which they were by one of her supporters) this is where they buried the children & where Keith Bennett is still buried. If she was really sorry who in their right mind would want their remains scattered where they commited the most terrible crimes?

Maureen met her 2nd husband & had a little girl, she believed Hindley's story & took her 2nd husband & daughter to visit Hindley every month. When Maureen died in 1980 her 2nd husband carried on her wishes & kept up the visits taking the little girl. When Hindley confessed to the murders of Keith Bennett & Pauline Reade Maureen's husband felt that Maureen would not have wished him to continue visiting Hindley as Hindley had sworn to Maureen that she knew nothing about any of the murders & that there were not any others. Maureen's daughter is now in her 30's & cut off all contact to Hindley in her early teens.

David lives in Ireland & Maureen's daughter is (or was) somewhere in the Manchester area, Hindley's mother is still alive.

And Myra Hindley burns in Hell.

Where did you get all your info, all i heard about hindleys death was that her ashes had been scattered in an undisclosed place?

reply

Hi
I think I've probably read every book on this subject mainly because it is so unbelievable that I had to get some answers. There are no answers, Hindley & Brady were pure evil.
Some of my references (all of them are from books)the most recent with pics of the watch Brady gave her & the car registration documents which she kept to her death:

There's loads of books out there but this guy (Duncan Staff) spoke to Hindley & read her notes on her life.

thanks for the reply,im actually staggered she had any freinds left that would actually scatter her ashes for her let alone on saddleworth moor.
from what you say about her keeping documents records etc it kinda proves she tried manipulating the parole board for an early release,im glad the btich never got out.

Myra Hindley's ashes weren't scattered on Saddleworth Moor, they were scattered in Stalybridge Park.

reply

So, all the research in the books mentioned is wrong?
Can you substantiate your claim in any way?
I too have read several books on the Moors Murderers, I lived at the time of the crimes in Ashton-U-Lyne.(I am 59)
Whilst I believe Hindley was fond of shopping in Ashton, I do not recall Stalybridge affording much attraction to her,
so "Why a Stalybridge Park?". Sorry, can't see it myself.
Bizarre & sick as it undoubtedly is, I can see some credence to the claim of her ashes being scattered on Saddleworth Moor.
And, if indeed true, the 'person' who complied with such a request needs look to their soul.

For me, her ashes had no place on Gods Earth. And neither does that other scumbag.

It is indeed true that Myra's ashes were scattered on Saddleworth Moor. They were scattered there by the prison officer who attempted to help Myra escape from Holloway in the 70s, Patricia Cairns. They remained friends up until the end of Myra's life and Patricia scattered Myra's remains on Saddleworth, near the reservoir. Despicable really.

Thanks for that. The Stalybridge thing would have been preferable. To comply with Hindley's wishes, well, as you say, despicable. What a sad sad world we live in.

according to wikipedia and a few other sources round the net hindleys ashes where indeed scattered at stalybridge,it seems that the rumour they was scattered on saddleworth seems to be one of those things people want to believe, which pretty much still shows how much the public hated her as we still look for reasons to hate her after her death,i for one am glad shes gone i just weish brady would follow her.

I agree: The man is an insult to humankind.

As for the saying you should not speak ill of the dead....only good.....OK:
"Hindley is dead. Good."

Even better would be "Brady is dead.Excellent"
(I hope the bastard dies in absolute agony.Even though it will be nothing compared to what he & that bitch did to others.)

I just watched a special today, Myra Hindley: the prison years, and her ashes were indeed scattered on the Moors. They interviewed one of the victims mothers (Keith, still missing) who was quite understandably upset that her sons killers ashes were scattered near her victims still unrecovered remains

How is it possible that a monster like that had any kind of "supporters"?. WTH is wrong with people?. Her ashes should have been flushed down a toilet in the prison. WHat a total disrespect to the families that they'd allow her fellow phycho friend to get the na d scatter them in the same park they buried the poor children.

Some *beep* justice.

I read quite a few years back in Vincent Bugliosi's book, Helter Skelter, that, by the time he had been convicted, Charles Manson had had over 5,000 offers of marriage.

It's a sick world. Check out some of the depravity just on the Internet that ANYONE can access. There is everything from child porn to snuff sites.
