When she said she had to go to the chemist for eyeliner, did she walk out on the family?

We thought so, yes. Because she could could see the family worked well without her and she was maybe afraid about rejection if she stayed. That was how we saw it in our house.

She left. She had asked before "How can I ever be a mother again? I'm a Hindley"

she left and dave remarried another lady called mary and they had children together

Same as above I assume she left because Dave Smith re-married and has had quite a few children.

Hi there, my son was in the drama he played newborn baby Paul Smith, the cast were all fabulas and as you can imagine I had so many questions while I was on set!! Yes Maureen did leave and she remarried and became Maureen Scott, she later had a daughter with her husband. Dave also remarried to Mary and had a daughter. He is now in the Republic of Ireland and he runs and bed and breakfast with his family. The three boys are grown now but they all have secret identities.

thanks for the info,i thought the women who played maureen played a fantastic part she made this drama.

Maureen died not long after - of a brain haemorrage I think - in her early thirties. David remarried & had more children.

Maureen and David Smith were divorced, both remarried and I believe she had another child with her second husband. She died in 1980. I believe David Smith now resides in the Irish Republic.

PS If anyone knows the opening theme music Id be v grateful.

Yes. For some unbelievable reason, she didn't repudiate Myra, and when she was watching her own little boys at breakfast, she realized she couldn't reconcile those two things; protection of them above all else, and not rejecting her sister. I can't believe the choice she made.
