Non-stop music

This is part of a sadly growing trend - Numbers and Mystery Woman are other examples - where the music just NEVER shuts up. It's there burbling inanely in every %*&$ing scene. It not only becomes incredibly annoying, it also lessens any impact that the music might have when it would be appropriate.

Music can be a great tool but hitting people over the head with it interminably debases the art of film music composing.

For a great example of how to create tension-filled drama without any music at all, see The Hill.
