I didn't exactly get the idea behind this conversation .. Why did Marian put her husband in the facility in the first place ? And why did she bring him back ? What happened in their life ? Can anyone please tell me what the whole conversation meant ?

Marian put Aubrey in the home because he was getting hard to handle. But she brought him back home because of the expense. He was sued by his last job or something and wasn't good with money so they weren't well off; she didn't want to lose her house.
shareI believe she actually says he was in there because she went away somewhere. She mentions that she regrets putting him in there but she wasn't going to get another chance to go wherever she went. I don't think he was really there all that long. She says in their conversation that she was expected to stay quiet in their relationship, and she's angry that he's left her to deal with whatever legal/money problems he caused. I'm sure she loved him, but his character definitely doesn't come off as friendly, and it's clear they had problems.
shareShe was tired of taking care about him and wanted break at least for short time. She took him back because their house was written on his name and unless he would be residing there his employer would confiscate it.
