I loved the original version of this film when I was a kid. It's never been released on DVD in the states (and, as of yet, I don't own a region free dvd player). Though I doubt this will see a theatrical release here in the US, I will certainly buy the DVD when (if) it is released, simply on the hopes that it does live up to my memory of the original. So far, the few people who have reviewed it for this sight have given it excellent ratings, so I am excited. . .

Indeed, the original had Harvey Keitel, though!!!!

I hope this one will promote interest in the older one, and get it released on DVD finally!

Yes, I still have the VHS from the 90's.
A much more honest movie, without the embarassing dramatics of this "Berlusconi" contraption.
I guess the remake was made to sugarcoat the converted, in the USA,
not for the thinking Sceptic.
I now got the orignal version on a PAL Region 2 DVD, with Harvey Keitel from http://www.artpopdvd.com/ .

Not made for the Septic tank like yer spelling might suggest, the original is meant for the skeptic. Anyway, original is better even with miscast Keitel.

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.
