I should have NEVER watched Season 3!

Sooo many warnings that Season 3 sucked, yet I still watched Season 3 thinking, "Well, it might suck, but at least I'd get my H20 Fix." OMG it was sooo bad it ruins the whole series! I would have been EXTREMELY happy with the show if I just watched season 1 and 2 and then just left it at that.

I can't stand that Will guy. And Bella, although is incredibly gorgeous, is really stupid. Did the creators of H20 think to to themselves...

"let's bring in a new guy who ACTS LIKE A BAD GUY, STALKS people, gets into everyone's business and make him LOOK like a good guy, *beep* Bella, steal Rikki Away from Zane and have the BEST life ever for Will? Kick Zane to the curb and let Will have Rikki and Bella for life? Oh and let's make sure he has abs.. yeah the girls will love that!

Oh and let's get rid of an ACTUAL good guy who is very important to the show and a REAL GOOD GUY and someone the fans actually like.. yeah send him off to America, so he can't be on the show anymore, but let's keep that a$$hole Will around to act like a merman when he's not, stalk people, force himself around other people, blow people's secrets, and get rewarded with a permanent invite to hang out with everyone, and just plain out ruin the show!"

NO WONDER THERE WAS NO SEASON 4 !!!

It is completely mind blowing how awful season 3 is. I understand that there was a huge fan demand for a third season, but they really should have stuck with the original plan of 52 episodes, especially since Claire had already signed on to do Messengers 2. One would think they would have simply got another actress to play her character, however they just replaced her character completely(which was stupid)& the story explanation for her character's absence was even more ridiculous. Even though season 2 is really good, that's when the writing started going downhill, & was the blue print for the crapfest that was season 3 in my opinion.

Well actually if you think about it none of the seasons had perfect writing. Having Rikki, & Zane randomly break up at the end of season 1 after everything that they had been through made no sense whatsoever, lol. Season 1 is definitely the best though. It had more recurring characters, & the story lines involving them were really good. If season 3 would have been planned from the start, & they would have had actual ideas for it ahead of time, it could have been great.

I didn't dislike season 3. It could have been a lot worse. At least they brought in a new mermaid rather then try and get a lookalike to replace Emma.
But I found the whole water tentacle thing kind of boring.

As for characters, yes Will was very stalker-ish and I didn't like the way that he just sort of stepped in after Lewis left.
But I found Ash from season 2 far worse than Will. The way he would just walk into Emma's house all the time and then there was that scene at the beach when he picked her up was taking her to the ocean. At the time he didn't know she was a mermaid, he just thought she'd had a bad experience with water (maybe thought she'd come close to drowning or something) yet he still thought it would be good to just pick her up and drag her to the ocean despite her yelling no at him.
At least Will knew Bella could swim (he'd seen her run off into the sea) and he only splashed her hand with water.

And since we're on the subject of characters Sophie really annoyed me! She acted like Will's mother and was just nasty to Bella for the hell of it. I wouldn't even say she was a 'bad girl' like loopy Charlotte, she was just an insecure, jealous bully.
At least with Charlotte you can see from the start that she's unbalanced which explains her crazy behavior.
Oh and in season 1 there was Miriam. Very similar to Sophie I'd say. Lust's after Zane when he's clearly not interested and just nasty to people for no reason.

Nah. As the above poster said, season 3 ruins the entire series. As much as I dislike Ash, Will was definitely without question the bigger jerk. Ash was just simply more of an idiot than a jerk. He just wasn't very bright. Also having Indiana Evans play Emma would have been better for the story than just bringing in some random new mermaid.

The opening poster pretty much nailed it so I'm not going to go into much detail. I'm glad you enjoyed it though. To each their own. By the way how is Mako Mermaids? How would you compare the writing to season 3 of the original series?

SPOILERS....

If you mean Mako Mermaids then I found it ok. Not so much season 1. I liked the character Serena but the other 2, Lyla and Nixie just seemed to bitch and argue all the time.
The second season was so much better when they brought in Mimmi and Ondina. Also many seem to disagree but I also thought making Evie a mermaid was a good idea. In the first series, she just came across as annoying and jealous but once she was one of them she was so much more likeable as a character.

Season 3 was kind of ruined when she lost her tail and chose to hand back her moon ring. Its like she went through the whole thing for nothing.
