Do the characters understand each other's roles?

I've noticed an odd disconnect between the various character groups and I'm wondering what everyone else's ideas are on it.

Do the various groups in the show understand what the other's are and what they are doing?

DJ Jesus always calls to The Devil as "Lucy's Dad" and seems undisturbed that he and Becky are demons, yet he does make several comments to indicate that he knows that "Lucy's Dad" is the Devil (In Burning Man he say "Get behind me Satan" and during the pre production of his movie out of his book he mentions that "Lucy's Dad" will be CGI).

Additionally, no one else seems bothered by the Devil sitting at his bar or doing...whatever.

The Priests seem to be hunting for Anti-Christ yet they aren't really aware that it's Lucy and they seem to be unaware of The Devil even when he's in the room. They also seem to want to help DJ Jesus at times, but don't really react to them as the second coming of their God and you'd think that is fairly important.

On the other hand, The Devil is QUITE aware of who his daughter is dating and I guess you could chalk his lackadaisical approach to him in the same way he kind of half-assed does everything in general.

Any thoughts...is this kind of a Stewie Griffin kind of thing or does everyone know everyone else and just not care?

I think the fact that nobody but Satan knows anything, and he doesn't have the gumption to act on what he knows, is part of the humor & structure of the show. So it's fun to diagram it out like you have but ultimately there isn't much of an answer.

You raise a good question about DJ Jesus; you could explain "Lucy's Dad" being CGI as just a reaction to the Devil's appearance (as opposed to him being THE DEVIL), but he does witness stuff like the Senator sacrificing the standup comic without batting an eye (though it could be he doesn't really notice, the animation is pretty non-specific).

Mostly, I'd say, the world just seems to be going so badly that the evil stuff doesn't stick out that much. Which makes it even more impressive when something really does scare them (like the sleep machine or the haunted school).

To some up: I love overthinking funny things.
