so i just finished watching this movie and you know the part where they show how he crashed if he was so tired why didnt he just pull over and sleep for a bit and also how was he able to survive he was in freezing cold weather plus he was injured....
shareIf you had just gone through the disappointment of that trip (meaning that Lucinda chick not quite being what he expected) and all you wanted to do was get home, then yes you would keep driving until you made it. It looked like he was probably only an hour or two away from his home. It's typical male youth attitude to keep going until you get there. Obviously as we get older we know the dangers of driving while exhausted. I know when I was a late teen I would go to parties where we would be up 36 hours straight and still do the drive home while totally exhausted. Stupid? Of course, but so are most teens until they learn.
And as for surviving, well there have been other stories of great success in making it while lost in the outdoors and against all odds. In this case, being young and what looks like a healthy kid was most likely in his favour. It is amazing what you can do if you can will yourself to live. Although not mentioned in the movie, we don't know if he was unconscious the whole duration; from the time of the accident, until he was rescued. If you could hear traffic nearby on the highway above then you would probably think that you would be rescued soon, this may have helped him.
