the scene where one of lok's men gets tortured by jimmy's men is brutal. he gets smashed and beaten with a sledgehammer and then chopped up to pieces by jimmy, put thru the meat grinder and gets fed to the dogs. brutal as.
Yeah, but it's as unrealistic as it can get. You can see the sledge hammer bent when swinged, showing it made from plastic. Pure crap. And the expression of lok's men when his hand got smashed by it, also pure crap. It's like got smashed by a pillow instead. And the blood too... i can understand you looking to get the censor body rating as low as possible, but c'mon, your hand and head smashed by a sledgehammer, and no blood?
If you don't want to show the blood, don't show the body part as being hit by the sledgehammer!
after the first few swings, i thought it looked like a rubber hammer; just assumed this was some tried-and-true torture method, like rubber hoses or a bag of oranges ... maybe it wasn't supposed to be an iron sledge hammer at all; no?
A really disturbing scene. I found it hard to watch. I also found Lok's death, where he's trying to get back his son, to be disturbing. Great film, though - works on so many levels.
When darkness overcomes the heart, Lil' Slugger appears...
I found it hard to watch because of both the method and how ruthless Jimmy has become. That was the lowest point of achieving his ambitions. It's a memorable scene, for sure.
You guys cannot be serious. Whoever found that scene authentic enough to be emotionally jarring must have learned everything they know about physics and human anatomy from Bugs Bunny.
Why is it ridiculous? The body is a elastic bag containing blood, there is no reason for it too bleed if you smash it with a sledgehammer.
That's the reason they chose the weapon, it enables you to kill someone without blood loss, a good alternative to choking them to death which is more hard work.
Everything else was unrealistic, but beating up on a body with a sledgehammer won't make a person bleed.
I loved that scene,it showed the significance of Jimmy's change of character and also the most memorable scene for me in Election 2.Who cares if there are no flying blood, the acting was superb, very chilling with the soundtrack and the shadow view.
