Was it been cleared upand I missed it, or just for making us think that she is the bad guy?
shareAfter some consideration, I have two theories.
One: It's an error in the writing that they didn't bother to fix. Almost like they started filming before the script was finished and the supermodel was going to be something else, something darker. Somehow attached to the shadow creature.
Two: The shadow thing tried to come out and eat them, but it was just too bright for it. It seemed to grow stronger with each kill, so maybe it just wasn't strong enough?
Idk, that was weird. Maybe it was just foreshadowing, as it were. XD

He was seeing the shadow monster about to grab her, but give you the idea she was one of them. Just to get your gears working trying to figure out if she's human or not.
When he looked back it disappeared... why, cause it was filmed that way.
I think the answer is, that it wanted to attack her but did not see her as much of a target as she was naked.
Remember the whole take your clothes off thing and you look like less of a target.
And she was totally naked, well apart from the towel.
