Best Horror Movie In A Long Time

More people should know about this film, it's brilliant. More so for it being low budget, very orginal and very well done looking forward to Potter's Field!

I totally agree.. this was a great movie. I pick up movies when I go to store that don't have a million of the same title around it.. the ones that didn't get much buzz.. and I'm soo happy I picked this one up. I love that I didn't know what was going on until the end at all.. I thought it was great.

yeah, this movie finally did it for me, i've been looking for a scary movie for a long time, and as i assume you all know the horror movie industry, there are more busts than good films, this one is great, i can't believe its not more popular

reply

i dont understand why ppl bash this movie so much... its a great low-budget movie and very underrated imo..

recommended..

there can be only one... two... or even 3 joints per hour...lolz

"i dont understand why ppl bash this movie so much"

I'll try to explain it to you,

the movie is garbage -
1. the "acting" was pathetic - the cop? I didn't even believe his moustache!

2. the camera people had obviously never filmed anything other than a family picnic before doing this and they should be forced (clockwork orange style) to view the frames from 42:23 – 42:50 mins ad infinitum, the camera stays focused center but James moves to the left and we are all left staring at a dung orange colored wall and James's "evil eye"

3. the scriptwriter was so pathetically unimaginative as to have written "I'm afraid the life of an accountant isn't as glamorous as you might have thought" (accountants are stereotyped for being boring)

4. I've seen better make-up on crack whores, scarier make-up at a kindergarten halloween party and more believeable make-up on Tammy Fay Baker

and that's just a taste - given a weekend and a camera anyone could have done a better job with the story.

The shame of it is - it was a DAMNED good premise - just a waste of celluloid.

Saying that it was "good" just because the story was, is like saying William Hung did a good job singing She Bangs "http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8782148515420176113&q=william+hung"; - just because the song was good doesn't ensure QUALITY

1. Ok. Ill give you the cop. he wasn't great. but not all of the acting was terrible.

3. I believe that was supposed to be a joke of some sort. there are a lot of little funny things thrown in. i think that was an ironic statement.

4. What are you doing with crack whores and kindergarteners? Sounds like fun

I personnaly think that it was good. it may have been lacking in areas but not that bad.

So when are some of your movies coming out? huh

There is a difference between movies that are scary and movies that make you barf. This movie made me nauseous, and it wasn’t scary. I found too many mind-numbing subplots and holes. Had the film stayed with one single storyline, it would have been less goofy, stupid and chaotic. Listening to the cop character tell his long and painful story made me want to cringe. The nympho sister doing it with the moronic uncle had nothing to do with this film… or any other film, for that matter! The father’s funeral... never mind. It’s not even worth my time.

I liked the premise of 2 boys finding a baby in the garbage and taking it to their ‘club house’ to raise for themselves. What happens afterwards turns into a disgusting old joke I read in a National Lampoon magazine in the 80’s about altering your cute baby brother into a cute bunny with kitchen table surgery. The results were grotesque. That should have been the whole movie (shot in black and white) and in Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte style.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Smoke me a kipper. I’ll be back for breakfast.

im gonna go rent it but it better be better than jackhammer masscure cuz i cant believe i spend my blockbuster card on that piece of *beep*

Robbie in da *beep* hood

reply

well said n ryt guys...
but wat i feel is that, this script must hav been handled by a far more experienced director and a bigger peoduction company and it wud hav beaten the "saw" series black n blue!!!

reply

Ok, so just because the production value wasnt massive its a crap film? Go see Evil Dead then tell me production value means everything... Its like saying 50 Cent is awsome because his beats are great, shame theres no bloody content!! This movie was genuinely creepy, the acting wasnt perfect but who gives a ****. I havent walked away from a movie feeling freaked out in a loooong time, and I watch alot of films, especially horrors...

And to say the editing and cinematogrophy was crap, well you must only be used to Spielberg's, Mann's and Lucas' work because this film had some original and truly disturbing shots. Anyone else agree?

This movie is a real old school horror fans wet dream... END OF STORY!!!!

:)

"I`M RUNNIN THIS MONKEY FARM NOW FRANKENSTEIN..."

reply

Exactly Hollywood should take note of a film like this

reply

Thats how things work, in music film tv and literature. Whatever excels in the underground eventually gets leeched and used by the mainstream, then the underground content has to strech even further in order to be orignal. Gotta love it

reply

Personally, I thought this film was horrible when I watched it, but eventually I realized it was genius. I really want to see it again, it's definately the most *beep* up thing I've ever seen. Great horror film.

reply

i really enjoyed this film!!! Great job!

This was a great movie!

You guys must be seriously ... I won't say, but you get the picture I guess? (pun not intended).

Sheesh! How can you call this movie "Best Horror Movie In A Long Time"

I mean, call it "Best LOW BUDGET Horror Movie In A Long Time", that I can understand... well not really, but you get what I mean

reply

So then what is YOUR best horror movie 'in a long time'?? I'd be very interested to know

reply

It was an interesting premise, and definitely a lot more original than most of the horror movies Hollywood is crapping out these days. Also, people complaining about the actors being wooden...the two main characters are sociopaths, they're supposed to be like that, IMO.

That being said, I wish I'd never seen this film. As bad as the effects were, something about it was just too "real" for me. The child torture just made me really depressed, because it's one of the few things that really gets to me on a visceral level.
