i mean come on....

When a Stranger Calls (2006) synopsis
"the harrowing experiences of teenage babysitter Jill Johnson (Camilla Belle). After tucking in her charges, locking the door and setting the alarm, Jill begins receiving phone calls from an increasingly menacing prankster who insists she "check the children." Trouble is, once she traces the calls, she discovers they're coming from inside the house. "
"Have you checked the children?"

When a Killer Calls (2006) synopsis
"A teenager settles in for a routine evening of baby-sitting, only to find herself stalked by a sicko who insists on repeatedly dialing the house. When she has the calls traced and learns they're coming from inside the house, terror takes on a whole new meaning"
"Have you checked the girl?"

if i didn't know any better, i'd think i was watching the same shi*ty movie!

this is why thriller/horror movies suck nowadays because people dont understand the term "original!"

This movie blew away When A Stranger Calls though imo. It was a lot more violent, bloody, and just better imo.

Neither are original since When a Stranger Calls (2006) is just a crappy remake of the superior 1979 version.

If you're into deaths then you'll find When a Killer Calls, but if EVERYTHING else matters to you, then When a Stranger Calls is a much more superior movie. The framework, the angles, the suspense, the scenery, the effects, the backstory, etc... just about everything besides the body count is better in When a Stranger Calls. I really can't see how anyone can prefer this movie over that one.

All three films suck. When A Stranger Calls (1979) is just a knockoff of Black Christmas, but taking the whole "have you checked the children" urban legend a step farther. But it was a pretty awful film to begin with. The 2006 remake was equally as bad, though it had beautiful cinematography. And then this ripoff film (done by a company that aims itself to do that very thing, create ripoff movies) is by far the worse take on it. But all in all, Every incarnation of "When A Stranger Calls", from the original 1979 version, the 2006 remake, and this all SUCK.
