Best film re: Being Understood

It is a Luxury to be Understood.


Such a great little film. Walls are built to keep people out..we stay safe...then along comes one person who actually does understand and the walls fall down. Scary. and great.

Mandy Moore is wonderful and I love the way she is so calm/patient in her portrait of an illustrator. She is a good actress. Billy Crudup is amazing as the guarded lonely children's book author. Tom Wilkinson, always Excellent.

Surprised this film isn't more widely applauded.
Justin Theroux directed it with edgy tenderness.

It is a perfect little film about being understood.
