Apparently, I don't watch enough television or something because I kind of found this show REALLY degrading, in so far as there is what - 50,000 dollars on the line, that's great, that's slightly better paying than the average adult's job.

But I didn't like the whole concept , given the bad sh*t that folks are accused of in REAL prisons, I kinda got the feeling this was Fox's way of getting folks to warm up to the idea that bad prisoner treatment is cool or something, is that observation correct?

You are ENTIRELY correct. This show is obscene. I feel like a bad human being for not trying to stop it.

They do try to push the "torture aspects" of the show, in reality it's nothing like actual torture. At most your going to come out with a few blisters and bruises. Yes there are Health and Safety regulations of this show!

Some people will push themselves swim the English channel, sail around the world, run marathons or climb Mt Everest. I think they're crazy and stupid as many have died doing it. At least this show you're not putting your life in danger.

The difference between this show and prison or Guantanamo is you have a choice to quit anytime. Every thing that happens - you do to yourself. 50,000 isn't really an incentive. It's interesting to note that at the reunion show that virtually everyone said they'd do it all again!
