just for fun...

Who's your favorite and least favorite contestant from each season?

1.0: favorite- #6 just because he was so entertaining (though a few others came close)
least favorite- I dunno, nobody really irked me during this season

2.0: favorite- tie between #3 and #7
least favorite- I'm tempted to say almost everyone else, but I'll have to go with #8 b/c not only did he himself piss me off, he was clearly Val's "favorite"; she let 4 quit but played a video to persuade 8 to stay (and then there's the fact he almost cheated in the final treatment)

3.0: favorite- #9 easily, he was the most entertaining, funniest, and the only thing holding him back from winning was his weight (his pain tolerance was probably higher than any other contestant from any season); also the fact that Solitary made him want to give up drinking was a positive thing and I hope he found a better job as well
least favorite- I'm torn between #8 (although she got less annoying as time went on) and #5; she was happy to get three donuts as a gift but didn't want to eat a lot of sweets? She choked down essence of horseradish but didn't like milk?! Come on.

4.0: favorite- #9 again, my favorite from the first episode onwards, although the new #6 (Tyler) came in close second and #2 third
least favorite- if I had to choose just one, it'd be #3 (how many times did she almost quit again?)

So, that's mine most and least favorites. How about y'all? P.S. I nearly forgot to mention that #4 from season 3 was a very close second to 9 because of his fandom for and dedication to the show

I believe you about #5 being your husband's friend, in fact if you can tell him I thought he was one of the high points of the season. Although, I have to ask, when you referred to #3 as "he"... I thought every number 3 they've had on this show was female, so I'm guessing (hoping) that was a typo.

I like the story about how you met the future number 5 (also, checked out the link you put-damn, he sure looks different). However, I wonder why you take such issue with the "mama's boy something-something", as you called him. I mean, sure, he was a little... odd, but his being a super-fan of Solitary was what got him to the final two. Not to mention, he beat out number 3, who was roughly half his age. You gotta give him some minute amount of credit for that. I looked up what a juggalo is though , and honestly, I now like number 9 a little less because I did. I remember when a friend of mine burned some songs for me, he threw in a couple of "theirs"... yeah, that was an unpleasant surprise.

Season 1
Favorite: Most of the people were cool; #1 (Pamela) and #7 (Steven), because they both had fun with it, especially Steven: he didn't even look close to quitting the final treatment.
Least Favorite: The only one I didn't like was #6 (Cliff), aka the stuntman: the guy lost his marbles and had a tantrum like a 4 year old, all but flopping on the ground and crying, because they wouldn't give him his chapstick.

Season 2
Favorite: A tie between #7 (Tyler) and #9 (JP); they were the most entertaining, but they were also two of the toughest on 2.0. It's not surprising they became rivals.
Least Favorite: #5 (Lee-Roy), the backyard wrestler. He seemed way out of his league from day one. Yeah, it would have meant a third of the cast would have been eliminated in two days, but after he tried to get through the second treatment ala Curly from the Three Stooges, he deserved to go home on pure principle.

Season 3
Favorite: #7 (Andrew) was easily my favorite; every single test and treatment treatment, he took it as far as he could and farther. I was really impressed when it came to #2 (Ceon) ; I really expected him to go farther than he did. He starts out the gate strong, and then all of a sudden, he's gone.
Least Favorite: #5 (Maureen) was whiny and #9 (Jason) was an ass. Enough said.

Season 4
Favorite: Again, kinda hard to choose, since the cast was mostly likable.
Least Favorite: I didn't really care too much for #3 (Kelsey), she was way too whiny. How she won is beyond me...

How she won is beyond me...

I know! I kept thinking that if Tyler had given her the penalty at the start of the second-to-last treatment instead of Rommel, she'd have been more tired, she would have screwed up more, she'd have quit the treatment first before Tyler, and the final treatment would have been numbers 2 and 6, with the winner being anybody's guess. I think he was gonna give her the penalty until he found out she was a girl; still, he could've said something like, "You played football with the guys in high school, you think you can hang with the big boys in Solitary? Show me what you got, little girl "

I am surprised no one liked #3. She was great because she won because of her intelligence and how she played the game. For some reason intelligence is not as valued in our society as strength and toughness. It's messed up if you ask me. She deserved to win. If the asian guy showed any smarts whatsoever he would have won hands down.
