Irish slang

I just saw the movie last night (It was okay but turned into a soap opera regarding Liam's birth/etc). Anyway, the scene in the pub where Liam kisses his son, Conor, on the cheek and Conor says, 'Don't do that. People will think I'm a rent boy." I'm assuming he means a homosexual. I've been to Ireland many, many times but am not familiar w/ that term.
