great Anti-Christian movie

The priests were not imposing anything on indigenous people. They were there to serve the community that was already there.

I've have disliked them more if they had them adopt western culture like they did historically as that would be a red line for me. As it was they deliberately do not delve deeply into the origins of the persecution. The Japanese already had followed many other religions.

They never imposed, the people were willing adherents.
