"Grace is Gone" might be worth a try. I always thought John Cusack was a brilliant actor - but his performance in this was beyond brilliant. In fact, it was the acting that blew me away. John plays a widower, who takes his young girls on a road trip to try and tell them that their mother has died in the Iraq war (she was a soldier). The acting performances ... OMG ... this movie stayed with me for days after I watched it, and although it was a different 'buzz' to reign over me, it was still very moving. It may not be everyone's cup of tea. Good luck.
"Love Liza" with Philip Seymour Hoffman is a comic tragedy that would probably appeal to fans of this film. But be forwarned, it's very heavy-handed and weird at times, and you'll probably laugh in "inappropriate" places (just like I did at this film, I must admit).
Definitely the Fisher King, it's a very similar story to Reign over Me but with Robin Williams in Adam Sandler's role. Benny & Joon is similar also but with a nutty girl instead of a guy, worth it just for Johnny Depp's performance alone.
I suppose you could also include Forrest Gump, haha.
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground, try this sig with spinach!
