MONIQUE should have to apologize.

HER comment on the interacial couple "girl didn't OJ teach you anything" (or something to that effect) was low, discusting and offensive. Basically she is saying all white women who date black men deserve to be terrorized and nearly decapitated in their own home. Lke Nicole had it coming and all white women deserve the same. How insulting to Nicole Brown Simsons family and children. She deserved to die by the hands of a man she loved and had two children with? Monique is an insensitive self righteous pig. I suspect she's not too confortable with being FAT either, since she's forever defending it and trying to brainwash people into her way of thinking. FAT is good and thin and in shape is ugly. If her fat flabby body is so beautiful why does she feel the need to cover it up so much, even in the swim suit scene. COME ON Mo' put on a bikini, fat is beautiful right, show them rolls, go ahead. It's hot remember? I guess the shot of the dr's muscular physique looked good enough to show him dressed in very little, how about a close up, up and down shot of Mo' in the same type of dress? Oh that's right, she just wants the men to look good. And he gets what....? He can have sex with her in the dark or she will keep all her clothes on because she's hot but she doesn't want to show her body. Right.

Fat women and thin men do well together in bed, that's a fact! Yeah, Mo did put on a bikini in the Ms. F.A.T. Competition. She looked pretty good, too bad her boobs aren't bigger. And yeah, black women are tried of having their women stolen by white women.

I would love it if at some point in the future Monique was being interviewed and had someone play bits from different movies she's done and then ask her to comment on them. Kind of a like "The Actors Studio". Of course I can see it now she would have "Precious" be one of the films and she could act all proud at her involvement. BUT I would pay money to have them play the above mentioned scene from "Phat Girlz" and have them say, "Now Monique, what exactly did you mean by that? Do you really want to have said that? Is this how you feel about white women who date black men? That these women should be brutally murdered in their own driveway while their children are inside sleeping. Hmmm what are your thoughts on the comment you felt so compelled to have in your movie Monique?"

reply

Nothing. There is no defense for the crap that came out of her mouth

Maybe she said it out of frustration from not having a man and then seesing a fine brother with a white woman on his arm!!!

I'm confused by this thread. Surely you mean the scriptwriters should apologise. As she is playing a character I doubt she is allowed to ad-lib and voice her own views. This is a film not a documentary.

Chihuahuaz, Sit down and SHUT THE *beep* UP! Your little rant is so *beep* stupid

It's a MOVIE for christ sakes, it has nothing to do with Monique herself. Why don't you type out a letter and send it to the Phat Girlz Producers and watch them send you a video response back of them all laughing at you.

It was more of a "dark humor" type of thing.

STEPPED UP IN THE PARTY LIKE MY NAME WAS THAT BITCH

Now I understand why so many black men are after me. I wouldn't want to put up with this much bs either. Keep it up "ladies" you all do so well impressing your men.

What a "nice" thing to say.

And there are White men who date and go after Black women. What's your point? You want to make a big fuss about a throw away line in a comedy as if it reflects Monique's actual views on interracial marriages. She's acting. No one cares if Black men are "after" you.

Got it?

That comment made me uncomfortable too...

It’s funny how different people view the same thing differently. I didn’t take her comment about OJ that way at all. You viewed it as Monique’s character saying those women “deserve” what they get, but I don’t think she meant they deserved the same fate as Nicole. I think she just meant it wasn’t a good idea for black men and white women to date back then and it’s still not, however it’s insinuated. But the entire movie is exaggerated and not to be taken literally or seriously. I mean, she won a contest for an all-expense paid trip to a posh hotel? Sure, why not, that happens all the time right?

Now, was it crass as hell to even mention OJ or joke about what happened to Nicole. Hell yes. However, Monique’s character was making crack after crack thru that whole scene and was having an exceptionally bad day in that scene, so I take it with a grain of salt. But another reason I don’t hold either Monique or her character liable for the things she said is because this was the part of the movie where the character still had A LOT to learn. She wasn’t likable but you could identify at least with her and maybe even feel sorry for her because she IS being discriminated against in all directions. It’s made her bitter. By the end though she’s figured it out, her bitterness is the only thing keeping her from being happy. Not her weight, not other people, her.

I thought it was a good movie in general, way better than a lot of big budget overhyped movies filled with a bunch of horse-faced boring actors.

Besides, as I’m sure you know by now, Monique didn’t write this movie. Nnegest Likké, wrote and directed this. There are extremely negative things said throughout the whole movie, for sure, but this was overdramatized to make a point. My unsolicited advice is the same as what the movie’s final message was, which is, don’t focus on the negative because no matter what you look like on the outside, THAT makes you ugly.

Just cuz u think my opinions r wrong doesn’t magically make ur’s right. Stupid troll...
