I watched it last night on Scifi. There was no mystery why this was straight to network television. And I really thought this was going to originally be a theater release. Anyone who spends any amount of money on this film will be royally pissed. It's like half way through the film, the produces said screw this. It was diffently Scifi channel quality though.

The movie WAS released in theaters. It was a very limited release in America, with an earlier and more widespread release in Europe. The movie was released on some select Video on Demand markets(such as Xbox Live) a month before the theatrical release. I wouldn't think the producers would drop it so readily even if they think it did suck. It had Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman and Devon Aoki, who are either famous enough or familiar enough to warrant drawing some attention. Chances are they just didn't have enough money for a large release.
