Felt slightly sorry for... (spoilers)

Chum.

I always thought he was going to stand up to Derek and save the two girls. Instead, he just got lumped in with him and gunned down. I guess he'd already sold his soul.

I felt sorry too.

That only happens in American films where they still decree a happy ending is needed. I am a yank BTW

For such a dark movie, London to Brighton still had a fairly happy ending....
I felt much more sympathy for Kelly than anyone else. That last scene is pretty heart wrenching.

I did like the film,it definitly was a suprise for me. With a title like that I was thinking it would be like an Australian film from about 20 yrs agao. WARM NIGHTS ON A SLOW MOVING TRAIN
Intruiging title very worthwile to look up & rent.

yeah i agree with you guys...

but i have a bit of a gripe with the ending...

technically they didn't deserved to be shot and i would have much rathered the lady sacrificing herself for the sake of the girl, or both dying, more preferable to the two guys getting shot...i mean wtf...y not just shoot them straightaway then...instead of this pretense of getting them to help you find someone..

also i think is a deeper story of accountablity. no one takes responsibility for their actions anymore and i think that this director is trying to propagate that idea. the idea that the middle man is "safe" is pure nonsense. but it is true in our society and it is all becuase of money.

you sue the company cause their payout will be alot bigger then sueing the employee (who wronged you) in the the company. sure it may be difficult but with lawyers as they are now anything is possible...get a class action for example...in turn the employee get *beep* by the company but not really by the client

but my point is.. although we can technically assume that the derek and chum guys are bad characters in a bad buisness...the client asked for what the client asked for...and by supplying that and having it backfire should not reflect poorly on the supplier...i honestly don't now what the rich guys reasoning was for shooting JUST the pimps...shoot all, shoot the girls yes but not shoot the pimps and let the girls watch....makes no sense

please someone enlighten me on this point as it is probably my biggest gripe in the whole film...that and the rich pedophile looked like a hells/evil version of Ted Danson...creepy

but yeah...soory for the long rant but maybe i read a little to deep into things but still...sif not shoot the offenders...not sure if this is the right area to post lol

What's the quote about when good people do nothing? What happened to Chum was harsh but fair.

"i mean wtf...y not just shoot them straightaway then...instead of this pretense of getting them to help you find someone.."

I think he got them to round them up so he could find out what happened and also so the girls didn't get away scot free. I suppose their punsihment was to think they were gonna die and have to watch as Derek and Chum got shot up.

Also, they can tell everyone what a badass the guy is too.
