I thought the first half was absolutely fantastic! Brilliant acting and really eerie (I won't be sleeping tonight!). I hope the second half is as good. Did anyone else watch it and what did they think of it?
Despite my privileged upbringing, I'm actually quite well-balanced.I have a chip on both shoulders.
I saw the first half tonight and i think its realy effective. it reminds me of the original of the Haunting, not the crappy remake. very tense im waiting for part two.
coudnt agree more,i didnt think del boy would pull off this kind of actor, but he did,i loved it and cant wait for the 2nd show,is 1 and half hours still this one??
It was great last night but I didn't find it scary except for the part were the ghost spoke to Hardy (David Jason) and the Captain (Max Bollinger) that was the only eerie part but the rest was good.
This was a good story and the screenplay is brilliant
Interesting & atmospheric although not sure why the Soviets just gave the sub back without checking it first-maybe this is explained later as I haven`t read the book yet.
After seeing Daivd Jason on Parkinson talking about why the script appealed to him ... which appeared to boil down to in the current crop of television shows (reality makeover pop idol celebrity gardening cop shows)there was nothing on television like this. Obviously Mr Jason has been missing such excellent shows as SEA OF SOULS which could teach Ghostboat lots about being spooky. Unlike most folks on this messageboard I didn't find it creepy or spooky. I felt it was overlong and didn't ever really fulfil its potential. Maybe part two will be better. So far I don't find any of the characters likable enough to care if the boat sinks and everyone is lost. David is really just being Frost on a Sub ... nothing particulary fresh or different in his performance.
Please complain about something worthy of the criticism. This was far better than some of the *beep* we have to endure. How the TV companies get away with wasting money on absolute no-brain crap like Footballer's Wives is beyond me. That's the sort of cretinous crap you should be complaining about! The amazing thing about such crap is that the so-called actors & actresss play thick chatracters. When they're interviewed for real you realize that they're actually thick in real life too! To think that there are decent actors who are out of work. Instead they employ brainless tarts to play brainless tarts. Ghostboat was a welcome diversion indeed!
