Russell’s Nailed and ended up suffering from the same financial issues that stalled that production. Kaye told ThePlaylist that the root of all these troubles — a dispute between Ronald Tutor, co-owner of Miramax, and financier David Bergstein — is out of his hands at the moment, so he aims to get back in the editing room and craft the film he truly wants. The filmmaker explained his process, saying, “as you edit, you learn more about the subject matter, and more about the actors, and nothing is set in stone. Movies are made many times — once in the writing, once in pre-production, once again during the shoot, once again in editing, in post, and again when you put it in the marketplace.”” (x)
