Is anybody here actually over the age of 15?

So many people seem to like it. I doubt there's anybody here old enough to actually know what a good film is. Because this is one of the worst films out there.

Not matter how you say it, rape isn't funny. To all those losers who say "Lighten up and who cares if it's rape!? Just laugh!" You're all a bunch of *beep* morons. To do that would completely desensitise the effect of rape and what it has on it's victims. If you laugh at something as low as that then what's next? Laughing at a helpless five year-old being tourtured to the point he's screaming his head off?

I am over fifteen, just watched this and I completely agree

reply

I don't even think you watched the whole movie... If you had, you'd know, this is an ANTI-RAPE movie, Not a PRO-RAPE movie!

I'm all for anti-rape and to handle it in a humorous way is great!

If you truly think this film is about "desensitize the effect of rape", you need to boycott any movie that has any hint of violence in it cause it "desensitize the effect of violence"!

And yes i'm over 15 and liked this film and thought it should have been out instead of Paul Blart movie as it was sooo much better!

reply

I'm 35 And thought the movie was very funny just way to long. My wife is 29 and thought the same. As did my brothers, father and mom at 28,32,63 and 59. all of whom except my father are indeed college educated. So really now stop assuming just because people like something they are all children it makes you look dummerererer then i do for my bad grammer.

reply

Wow. If you're college educated, then our (I'm assuming American) schools are truly an embarrassment. Is Big Stan an argument for more public money and political capital put towards our school system? I submit that it may be...

You are a judgmental dbag that probably has violent embarrassing fits when other people have contrary opinions to yours, pissing and moaning, whining and complaining. Really? Bashing people and calling them names because they don't fall in line with your perspective? Seriously? You are a sad sad pathetic child.

I think you missed the whole point. This movie is not pro-rape. The fact rape was in the movie was because of the stereotypes of being raped in prison. If you watched it, you must have missed the parts where the topic was brought up about consensual and non-consensual sex.

No, you unbelievably huge dbag. Other movies (at least ones I haven't seen) don't show violence and hatered in a humourous, slap-stick way.

The movie didn't desensitise rape because it dealt with the subject of it, but because it MADE FUN OF IT, you idiot!

This coming from somebody who finds a Rob Schnieder movie about rape funny?

"If a Soldier's pride means hurting one another, I don't want it..."

reply

There is one point that I slightly had a problem with, its when he woke his wife up screaming rape and telling her that she was going to get it over and over again(that was pointless and just retarded). However I really liked the part when he was making a speech and saying it was okay to rape the child molesters and other rapist(in those circumstances it is right). JupiterStorm you really need to get a life and go take this up with your church group. And I am 26 and have watch a lot of movies, this wasnt all that bad of one, it had its good moments.

reply

Hey, JupiterStorm, I am 36 years old and I laughed and laughed out loud several times. And by the way JupiterStorm I do know what a good movie is since I have studied filmtheory for two years so I therefore have seen a lot of movies.

reply

I'm 21 and think it's hilarious, the whole rape thing goes away by the time Big Stan is in prison and he's kicking ass, which is where it really gets good.
Rob Schnieder is unlikeable because he's a seedy con-man giving dangerous timeshares to old ladies, so the whole idea of him going to prison and getting raped sounds somewhat funny, then he learns some martial arts skills, kicks ass and turns the prison into a pretty happy community.

It's a Rob Schnieder comedy not torture porn, it doesn't encourage rape and nobody was hurt in the making of it.

Nice pick, Blade Runner is my favorite movie. Anyway, I'm 21, and I enjoyed Big Stan. I probably won't ever watch it again but it made for a decent rental. It's no Big Lebowski, but it works. The OP is just a jerk.

I am 37 years old and I was old enough to see the movie. If you actually have worked with anyone who has been to prison or know someone who has been there that is what happens after so long. They were only trying to make it seem comical even though you do have slight degree about rape is not cool at all. Still it was a comedy and if you are going to watch it you have to enjoy something to make you laugh.

If you didn't like it, that is your problem and keep it to yourself. Just because we did doesn't mean we are kids.

- Jackie Chan makes funny movies about martial arts, so hes desensitizing the effect of violence.
- American Pie makes funny movies about teens wanting to get laid with has many girls has possible, so they are desensitizing the effect of sex and its values.
- In Role Models there is a guy that talks about woman's boobs with a kid, so hes desensitizing the effect of "talking about boobs with kids".
- Home Alone was pretty funny, and it was about big guys trying to kill a little boy, you didn't like that movie? Was it desensitizing something to you?

and the list goes on. I liked all these movies so that makes me under 15 right? You called us a bunch of *beep* morons, that's not very mature.

A five year-old being tortured to the point he's screaming his head off would be funny if his head popped in the end!

Grow up "Big Guy".
