Fantastic documentary

It was great to see the world and life that existed long before the dinosaurs come to life in this excellent documentary. I'm getting addicted to these "Walking With ?" specials, they are well worth the watch.

Officially it's not a special but another sequel (like Beasts). Too bad they cut down on the episodes; I wish they would just focus on one period per episode, like the earlier installments, which had 6 episodes instead of 3. But otherwise another fantastic Walking With... classic! I saw the first episode on BBC One last Thursday and I'm loving it!

Some people would like to live in a really boring planet.

That is the wisest thing I have heard in ages. Dead serious.

I grew up on nature documentaries and on dinosaurs, and seeing a hybridization of prehistoric life brought in that format was blissful. Too bad there were so few episodes... I'm a bit surprised they didn't focus more on the earlier sea life. But I guess they figured that if they had to spend their money right to make money, they should focus most on as many big terrestrial predators and prey as possible.

I'd love to see a show like this on Dougal Dixon's speculative evolution book, "After Man: A Zoology of the Future." They already made "The Future is Wild" for Animal Planet. So it would be great to see a long, indepth focus on possible forms of life 50 million years into the future...

Thing is, that wouldn't be "walking with" would it? They did do one of my favorites, dunkleosteus, in the spin-off "seamonsters", and a few others but that was a bit short.

I do think that the whole series is an excellent populariser of evolution and makes prehistoric life look so fascinating from a purely artistic perspective, that the idea of 6000yr old earth is nothing but dull in comparison.

Oh, i'm sure the few of us here who like the show enough to post and talk about it are intelligent educated people and wouldn't be needing any more of that ridiculous debate which have so embarrasingly dominated the media in recent years.
