"i survived auschwitz, why shouldnt i be able to sell real estate?"

-her commenting on a RA company finally telling her after years of trying to get a job with them that no one will hire her because they cant understand her accent.

im sorry, but this woman is very, very stupid.

her position is that the only way she can get on in life is to forgive her greatest enemy. and sell houses.

also: why is she speaking for other dead people, she has the wits of a brick. if your going to forgive nazis, at least only speak for yourself. to hear her proclaim such things in public for the dead is an abomination.

I'm glad you piped up and said something ;) My thoughts are much the same as yours.

I'd also add that selfless acts 'on camera' really cease to be selfless don't you think? Her supposed selfless act of forgiveness is a personal thing, and should remain so, and not speak for others as the poster above said, and certainly not make money from it, as she certainly will have in the making of this documentary.

I don't question the terrible thangs that happened to her, but I do question her motives for appearing in this documentary. She seemd to me to be very money motivated.

reply

where do people get the idea that she is speaking for other people ??
Not once does she speak for the others, she clearly says I forgive them, not WE forgive them.
She is only recommending it to the others because it made her feel better but she never spoke for the others.

And why she appeared in this docu is quite clear, education.
She is obviously into educating people about this subject so of course she would be in a docu dealing with this subject.

Wow, only a few sentences that contribute nothing to the topic this time and only serve to attempt to belittle me? I expected a whole paragraph of your usual mindless crap. Running out of dumb things to say?

Well, you dont seem to running out of dumb things to say...keep up the good work. You never cease to amaze me. Keep being yourself(aint nothing like a closeted racist, harder to identify the enemy)

What happened to her is absolutely horrible, but I think she's obnoxious and full of contradictions. I watched only half of the movie and got bored.

You did notice that these people will probably never read your scorching comments since they made theirs months ago...but that is ok, you made you point.

My name is Eva Mozes Kor, the subject of your ridicule. How sad that you are a sick mined individual, as is your group to twist the facts. I was injected with 15 injection a week, I was between life and death, but I willed myself to survive. When I didn't die Miriam was taken back to the lab injected with something to stop the growth of her kidneys. After the war she always had kidney infections, by 1987 her kidneys failed, I donated my left kidney, a few years lated she developed cancer of the bladder that killed her in 1993. Her Kidney problems started because of the Auschwitz experiments.

I wonder what kind of twisted mind, and twisted agenda would create an e-mail like your's?

Since you don't believe that what happened to us happened, I wish your whole family to end up in Auschwitz like mine, and your brother and sister have the same kidney problems like mine did.

Even though I wish you my destiny, I FORGIVE YOU, because you don't know what you are talking about.

Eva Mozes Kor

wow. what a stupid *beep* im not a racist, i have no problems with jews. but this woman is just beyond retarded. her position basically is to wish horrible things on people who seemingly "betray her" and then forgive them at the same time. her psychological mindstate is pretty obvious...and childish. its almost like she has half a hitler complex and the other half a jesus/god complex.

Stockholm syndrome crossed with *beep* insanity? i dont know.

and whoever said she didnt do this for money...lets look at how it starts with her complaining that she cant sell houses....okeeee. so lets make a documentary about how she cant sell houses and see if that sells. but wait shes not doing it for the money shes doing it to tell everyone in the world her story about how she doesnt have any money and forgives horrible people. right.

i cant believe anyone actually buys into this crap. i bet they show this at neo-nazi conventions as a clear indicator that the movement is still alive and well, and successful.

honestly, dr. mengele did horrible things to her, she forgives him. heil hitler? W T F

I question the internal morality of anyone who can watch this film and come to the conclusions you have come to. You may be anti-Semitic or you may just be a simple person who is incapable of understanding complex concepts like forgiveness in the face of such horrors as you yourself will never experience in this lifetime.

"why is she speaking for other dead people, she has the wits of a brick. if your going to forgive nazis, at least only speak for yourself."

I suspect you were sleeping through the movie or you would realize that Kor spoke only for herself throughout and made it a point that she spoke on behalf of no one else.

As for another poster's argument that she probably did this "for the money", this is another assumption based on thin air. People who automatically assume the worst in people are to be suspected themselves of having a distorted self-image. Here is a portrayal of a woman who has made it her life ambition to educate kids, teenagers and college students on how to rise above. She is fearless in the face of opposition and holds her own throughout. And above all, she is a woman who owes nobody anything. She was the victim and in a world where we tend to blame the victim, she has found the one weapon which makes that mentality ineffective: forgiveness. I feel sorry for anyone who is capable of missing this point.

bravo bowmankcmo!

i think the "for the money" comments just smack of age-old stereotypes and anti-semitism!

i've met eva kor and i can tell you she is not dumb, sinister, greedy or any of the things implied by previous posts...she is generous, gracious, thoughtful, loving and kind...

but someone who's watched her dvd can speak to her motives...riiiiiight.

i love eva kor and everything she stands for...and while i agree that the documentary ends on a down note, it does not diminish my love and respect for her one iota...

she has the right to speak as an american citizen protected under the bill of rights...just as everyone else has a right to their opinions...but when those opinions are uninformed, well....everyone's got one.

she survived the holocaust and lives to share how it shaped her life...what have you done with yours?

I can understand Eva's forgiveness to a lesser degree. Hate is a horrible thing to live with. For her to be able to forgive, she's freeing herself of the pain in her final years. Anyone who can't appreciate this has the wits of a brick.

she never said she forgave Nazis on behalf of other survivors or those that died in the camps, nor was she trying. She didn't even forgive them on behalf of her family. She was absolving them for her sake only and said that repeatedly in the movie. Half the film focuses on this. Pay attention

--------
Woman: "Can we watch something else?"
Man: "No, I want to see how this ends."

reply

I'm pretty sure she said "I forgive on behalf of myself and everyone else who died" in the beginning. That's why the one twin, Jona Laks and the twin with the brown eyes and bright blue eye shadow were so mad. Laks said, "Who is she to speak for all of us?"

"Leave the gun. Take the canolis."

reply

This point is brought up in the program. She is encouraging others to do what she has done because it's had such a positive influence on her life. I think that she is a strong person herself to be able to forgive, but few people are ready to forgive wholesale torture and murder. If there was large scale remorse on the part of the Nazis I think more people could forgive, but many Nazis insisted until their dying day that what they did was justified because they were superior people.
