Wow what a twist!

was i the only one who didn't know abbey was in on it until the end?

some people say they found out when:
"Ryan burnt the money"
"Neil winked at the secretary"

i'll be honest and say it NEVER even came to my mind. either you guys are lying or you have a mind that is like abby's.

reply

ahah don't worry you're not alone

I never knew either

I was like "WHOA wtf"

the movie doesn't quite grab you by the balls until the last 25 mins and man its got a tight grip

I started to suspect very early that Abby was plotting with Tom(brosnan). She prevented several times Neil to call the cops and was always willing to encourage Neil to do what Tom wanted. There were other hints too; the line "nice performance" or the way she took the hankie from Tom when hers nose was bleeding. It started to look so obvious she was in it that I thought the director wanted viewers to think she was in it so I started to think she was not in it. So after all it was suprise she were plotting all the time, lol.

reply

hahaha no trust me you werent the only one...

first when i say neil kiss judy i was like whaaaaat? and then when i saw tom's picture i was like whaaaaat? and then when they showed everything abby did to teach her husband a lesson i was like .......*mouth wide open* lol but ya it was a pretty good movie...i wonder y they couldnt put that in theaters..

Also, when she told Mr Randall to go out of the bank and wait for her, and that she would take care of it, was a big giveaway. She probably switched the cash for the 'newspapers' or left the rest in the account.

Excellent twist indeed. Love it when movies can still do that. Most twists and turns have been done again and again, so a little surprise is good.

I'm watching it right now, and I'm only in the beginning, and I suspected Abby was in on whatever it is while they were at the bank. Don't know why, just got that feeling.

reply

Why would you read a thread thats obviously about the ending when you're at the beginning of a movie? Why even watch movies?

seriously? i suspected the wife all along because most thrillers have such cookie-cutter screenwriting. who is the person that i should suspect the least?...odds are is that the 'twist' will involve them.

reply

No, he didn't say that. For the record:

I had no idea she was in on it.

I think this was an excellent film, although that may be partly because my expectations were pretty low. I find it chilling that someone could come into your life and, without injuring you in any way, strip you of everything you value. I thought Tom had done that to Neil. The twist at the ending was just gravy.

In the middle of the movie I remembered Bello saying to the secretary "I have a suprise for him" when she was referring to something she had in store for her husband on the weekend. It stuck in my mind during the rest of the movie. I almost abandoned it when it turned out who Brosnan was but I still thought she was in on it.

reply

I saw this yesterday and I had no clue she was in on it.

What.....Huh.....Nevermind......

I thought this was a great movie, kept me on the edge of my seat, I knew it was going to be Judy at the house (I also guessed that the gun wouldn't go off), but didn't know the connection until the pictures, and had no idea that the wife was in on it. great ending.

reply

Blows.

reply

Oh I totally didnt see that coming!! I thought it was a very good ending to a pretty decent movie. Gerard Butler is SO HOT!!!

reply

I watched this over the weekend and was like "Holy S**t!" when the ending came. I didn't see that Abby was involved, until she said it, but I had a feeling that the "guy weekend" wasn't with his boss as she said to Neil, "what if I ask you to stay this weekend" prompting me to think that she knew that something was going on. Otherwise, why would a wife ask her husband to stay home when he's going away for the weekend with his boss for a potential promotion?

There were lots of little moments where now, when I look back on it makes the ending so much more...ummmm what's the word...expected, like when she's talking to the front desk workers at the hotel, Neil isn't around, and she says they saw the daughter & babysitter check in. All together, a pretty good movie-definately with an unexpected twist which is nice every now & then.

reply

I knew that the wife was involved in the plot during all the movie but besides that I thought that Gerard´s character was bisexual and was going out with his boss for the weekend for other reasons besides promotion.

reply

I had no idea she was in on it. I thought that was a great twist to the storyline.

You're definitely not alone. When Gerry winked at Judy (at the office) I thought, "Oh, I'm not going to like it if he's having an affair with the secretary." The rest of the movie I was completely taken in. When Judy came down the stairs at the cabin, I thought she was having an affair with the boss!

I did not like Neil (I have a thing about infidelity)........but I still love Gerry!!!

reply

ya during the first half of the movie I thought this was supposed to be some sort of commercial espionage thing considering that its related to Neil's "work". I was like, whoa, at any time now Brosnan is gonna reveal himself to be James Bond.
