I missed the first few episodes, would I be right in thinking Nico can't have children?

I was wondering about that too. I'm watching the first season on DVD and during the epi when Nico was trying to get the JK Rowling thing, Wendy says to her something like, "It's a good think you don't have children, I can't imagine how you'd raise them" and the look on Nico's face was very curious. What was THAT about?
sharenico can have kids...as far as i know. she and charles decided not too because of careers and stuff. but in the last episode she did tell wendy that she had a miscarriage when she and charles were together years(maybe not that long) ago. gutted she lost baby charlie AND kirby in one episode though.
