PLEASE STOP TAKING THE ENDING SERIOUSLY...

First off, I feel that the show was both real and at times fake (for lack of a better word). It was pretty much the cast's real life's bring documented (much like real world), but at the same time they knew they were on TV and probably got a push here and there from the directors/producers.

Second, the show's ending needed some type of "wow". Kristen getting in the car driving away from Brody wouldn't have done it, that would have been the same as them just ending a normal episode.

Third, the actual ending making it look fake, did two things. First, it kind of pooked fun at the fact that alot of fans said that it was fake and second, it was just a "artistic" way to end it. Think of the final season promos when they were all like puppets on strings, they weren't saying it was fake then, it was just an artisitic way to plug it.

I've been saying the same thing. On top of that, I keep seeing people saying "omg! I wonder how many of those places were actually backdrops!" -_____- Don't take that whole backdrop of Hollywood scene so literal! lol. It doesn't mean they used backdrops throughout the show. Read between the lines! Smh, lol. But yeah, the ending was really good! Probably the best "twist" of an ending of any show MTV has had! (That I've seen) =)

(I was a bit lost when I first saw that. Mostly because I just caught up with the show this weekend, so I was like "huhh?")

Agreed. Thank god there are non-idiots on this board who don't feel the need to act like they just found out Santa isn't real.

I think it was MTVs way of playing with us since everyone has always said that the show was fake. They were like, ok, we are gonna mess with them.

I truly think that the show was real. But, what Lauren said in an interview a long time ago. She said that sometimes the camera guys would miss something and that the cast would have to reinact the situation or scenario. Which is why sometimes the conversation pieces may seem fake (because they have to remember what they actually talked about). But if you look at the parties those were totally real, you couldn't fake some of those reactions. The camera guys were told that so and so was having a party and to show up and film.

That's just my two cents.

wow, if you thought any of this show was real, I pity you. This was one of the most horrid shows in the history of television. It played up vapid, fake Californians who think they are the most interesting people in the world, and you ate it up like a pig being fed slop. And I say this not because of the ending, I've said this since the first season, no human being can be that fake and devoid of life and not acting, which is the even sadder part, that they were acting to be normal, and they couldn't even do that well.

Sorry, two's company, and three's an adult movie.

Ive never been a fan of the show. Im more than aware of it, my wife watches it constantly.

However I was sat with her for the last 10 or so minutes of the finale and saw the ending, and as a non fan who thought it was all trash, it actually redeemed it and gave it some credibility for me.

Im pretty sure everyone knows it was fake. Scenes with loose direction given to the actors who then improvise. However by selling it as 'real' to me it was annoying. It also didnt do the cast any favours as they were sold as reality TV stars rather than bonafide actors.

By doing the reveal at the end i thought MTV where:

A. Finally admitting that yep, it was a fictional show.

B. Actually giving their actors a chance to be taken seriously rather than being whitewashed a 'reality tv stars'. They could justifiably go on to do other things now.

Persoanlly I thought it was a clever move, but like i say, im not a fan of the show so this really is an 'outisder looking in' view.
