I was expecting more

From the 10 year special. I cannot be alone in thinking this can I? I really like Lauren and I am glad to see she is successful and happy. I am also happy to have my suspicions confirmed about her fake romance with Brody and how *beep* MTV was putting her in a lot of situations. However, I wish the special had tidbits from all of the cast as well as their side and insight into the whole process.

It's exactly what I expected, actually. Only because these types of specials are typically never as good as you hope they will be. We got to see more of what Lauren's life is like today, some tidbits here and there about the show, some commentary on certain situations, and some clips/extra footage. So it was more or less what I expected.

I think it's pretty much known that producers really push the limits when it comes to "reality." They manipulate and set up certain situations. While it's nice to know it, it's even nicer actually have some of these reality stars come out and admit it. Like the dirty dress in Paris. It was interested hearing Lauren actually admit that the producers knew ahead of time that they wanted the dress to get dirty so they could have some sort of issue/conflict for that episode. It's the small things like that that honestly make me so fascinated by reality television and just how disingenuous it can actually be.

I wouldn't have minded hearing from other cast members as well, aside from Heidi and Spencer. Gag me. But I think the whole point was basically just to have it focus solely on Lauren. It would have been nice to hear from Whitney, Lo, and even Audrina, but I'm satisfied with the special. It wasn't amazing, but I learned a few things I didn't know. So it was nonetheless worth watching.

Yeah I agree it wasn't perfect just confirmed my suspicions especially since I read her L.A. Candy series and wondered how much of it was accurate and it seems like lots of it was. Like when she and Heidi had the confrontation at the club and they didn't tell her that they would be there so she left shortly after confronting the producers after it.

I wish they gave every female lead some screentime in this one. Lauren, Whitney, Heidi, Audrina and Lo. Get everyone's perspective on the show and what really happened with different sutuations

I agree with tvaddict that the special was worth watching. I discovered through watching this that I only cared about Lauren's storyline so it was fine for me that they didn't interview anyone else in the special. Lauren admitting that the Brody thing was fake answered a lot if questions for me. Lauren has definitely matured since the show. She's such an adult now. It was nice to see.

I hope this is the last we hear of The Hills. It's been 10 years now. Time for MTV to get creative and find some new shows.

On MTV's youtube they have like 100 things about The Hills with Whitney, Heidi, Stephanie and Brody
