Quebra barreiras e adapta-se a um novo cinema

Something evil

Portuguese movie at the opening ceremony of Fantasporto\06. This story circles around a family that moves to the bucolic environment of the Village and goes to live in a great-grandfather's house.

As the script writer said in an interview: Evil in Portugal, and most of all rural environments is accepted as the air that we breed, the mecanichal act of breeding is also most of the times, except when we are on the verge of suffocating accepted without questioning. The roots of evil are so whelmed inside Portuguese culture that when we are upon two explanations to the same question, we often chose the supernatural way despite the scientific one.

About the movie for a Portuguese movie: its outstanding, why? The reason is that Portuguese cinema is impregnated with three marks: Sex (lots of it otherwise people wont see the film), Bad Scripting (this one is pretty good although slow paced) and Bad acting (Average acting in this one). This movie manages to escape all of the legionnaire illness that oozes from Portuguese's films. Last year for instance "O crime do padre amaro" overwhelmed "Alice" in part because the torrid sexual scenes a model interpreted.

Considerations aside the movie goes on a slow pace, but is very enjoyng really, nothing of those pseudo-intellectual movies that even the director\writer doesn't understand. Good Dialogues, average acting with some highs and great filming of a Fantas Veteran. Congratularion Tiago Guedes.

P.S. This movie reveals what perseverance and talent will work against all odds.

"Parabéns Tiago Guedes e toda a equipa de produção, continuem a dignificar o cinema português."
