Sweet list! I'm not as big on the newer albums as "Butchered at Birth", "Tomb of the Mutilated" and "The Bleeding" (my fav). George Corpsegrinder Fisher is all good but I was pretty loyal to Chris Barnes, even though I hear he's a douche :)
Yeah how is Hammer Smashed Face not in your list? lol.
By the way there is a short pseudo-snuff extreme horror flick out called Dead Human Collection by Black Vomit Films which is apparently inspired by the August Underground films and has a metal soundtrack. I'm in the process of tracking it down currently.

haha, i have no idea how it's not in the top ten...they play it unbelievably well live too.
For sure, although I've never seen them live :) I downloaded the mp3 of the version they did for Live Cannibalism.
i became a CC fan when Barnes was the lead, but really took into them when Corpsegrinder became the man. He's just this huge f#cking front man who just seems perfect for what he does. His neck is like a tree trunk.
You're not wrong, the dude is huge.
I have a couple Six feet Under cd's and one has a dvd that shows Barnes being pretty cool, smokin weed and what not...but i think it's because I like George's real deep, massive guttural vocals in comparison to Barnes more scratchy growls...? That make sense?
I never got into SFU, their just too mellow for me aye (first album). I haven't really returned to them again. I hear ya re: vocal styles, definitely.
Wayne Knupp (RIP) from Devourment takes the cake for guttural vocals though, he is absolutely inhuman. Matti Way from Disgorge is another inhuman growler, his growls sound like two pieces of concrete scraping together.
I can't believe the small amount of people on the horror who actually listen to CC or even death metal for that matter...
Yeah I've attempted the metal\death metal thing before on various horror boards without much luck, it really surprises me to. In my mind if you like one you're generally going to like the other but hey doesn't seem to be the case at all. I guess it depends what particular type of horror you like, personally I love the sickest most depraved whore butchery sh#t.
that thread should've exploded...like a bloated severed scrotum!
Bwhahahahaha! That's my new favorite saying

Yeah they're two of my fav death bands for sure, I had no idea Disgorge's bassist was dead though? That sucks. There are actually three Disgorges though, one from San Dieago (the good one), one from Mexico, and another one from the states who are now called Eternal Suffering (another sweet death band to check out).
Retch are OK, I have to be in the mood for them and the drum machine kind of sucks. Although if you want a Retch-esqe band who are even heavier and sicker check out "Vomitous".
I've heard of Disconformity but haven't heard them, will definitely check them out. Vomit Remnants from Japan are pretty sweet to.

I don't know all their songs but I like most of the stuff on Kill. I also like Devoured by Vermin. I like Hammer but I think that if they rerecorded it with Fisher I would probably like it much better. I think Fisher has the best vocals in all of metal along with Randy Blythe.

Fisher has performed Hammer Smashed Face plenty, check em out on youtube.
I think the best Fisher\HSF version I've heard was from "Live Cannibalism".
His vocals aren't bad, but I prefer guys like Matti Way (Disgorge), Wayne Knupp RIP (Devourment), Angel Ochoa (Cephalotripsy) et al. I was listening to "The Bleeding" on the way to work and I have to say I miss Barnes, although I don't follow Six Feet Under.
I meant like a studio rerecording. I've heard him live and he kicks ass! Oh definitely, the Hammer version on Live Cannibalism was f--king badass! The best part is when he just goes "HAMMERRRRR!!!! SMAAAAASSSHHED!!!! FAAAACE!!!" then the riff opens up. Gives me chills everytime.
To be honest, I wasn't really into Barnes' voice. His was great at writing lyrics. Perfectly suitable death metal lyrics. Just wasn't a fan of his voice. I'm not much of a fan of SFU either.

Yeah he's huge, he's one big dude. Their new album was announced the other day and it sounds awesome. Evisceration Plague, January 3rd, 2009. Oh yeah! Bring it!

Oh yeah, they're almost 40! I still can't believe George is that old he looks 10 years younger, to me at least. Hitting 40 and still making brutal ass death metal. Webster said Evisceration Plague will be heavier than Kill, and well all know Kill was brutal as hell. In case you didn't hear of the track listing, here it is:
01. Priests of Sodom 02. Scalding Hail 03. To Decompose 04. A Cauldron of Hate 05. Beheading and Burning 06. Evidence in the Furnace 07. Carnivorous Swarm 08. Evisceration Plague 09. Shatter Their Bones 10. Carrion Sculpted Entity 11. Unnatural 12. Skewered From Ear to Eye
Comes out February 3, 2009
