What animal crosses O'Toole's path going outdoor theater?

Saw this movie last week and eventually, grudgingly admitted to liking it. I thought the May-December relationship was pretty weird but I think I understood it more as the movie progressed. Anyway, WHAT kind of animal crosses O'Toole's path when he is walking (like through a park)to the outdoor theater? I have looked and looked online for anything that looks like that. Didn't see any pictures like it in the fox, weasel, raccoon, or cat family. Anybody know???
Very curious! Thanks!!!

I'm quite sure that it was a red fox (vulpes vulpes). They're quite common in London nowadays, and those in the city tend to be bigger than those in the countryside.

Come to think of it.. O'Tool was a bit of an old city fox himself in this movie.

Great! Thanks for your reply. I went back out on the web and looked at many photos of red and grey fox, also coyotes. Yes! These were all pics taken in and around London, especially parks and green areas--like in the film. Appears they are quite numerous as you said. There's a UK Humane Society site. Many articles out there directed to citizens on how best to handle fox or coyote they come across in urban areas. I need to look @ the movie photo again---the animal may have just been in shadow (bushes, trees) or it may in fact have had darker fur and perhaps did not have the white tipped tail like the red fox. Ah well! I'm excited you sent an answer!! Thanks much for helping to solve this mystery! ;-)

He's at The Regent's Park Outdoor Theatre, right in the middle of Regent's Park. I've been there many times, I live nearby, and yes, we have a lot of foxes around here, even if it is in central London.

Wow! Thanks much! Very interesting that you are or have been in that area. Regent's Park---I'll be looking into that! ;-)

OP: nice description, May-December relationship. Well done, never heard that before.

And yes, must have been a fox. My brother lives in London (Camden Park), and when visiting him (I'm from Holland) I was startled to see foxes scurrying about.

Interesting thread. I just watched Venus and seeing that animal scurry by was a "WTF" moment for me. A 2006 National Geographic article titled "10,000 Foxes Roam London" tells a bit more, http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/05/foxes-london.html.

Also, here is a still image of the fox in Venus, http://imgur.com/hU5rWQa.
