So in 1 word, is it GOOD or BAD?

So in 1 word, is it GOOD or BAD?

Hands down, this was the worst film I have ever seen.

reply

It was ok to watch

It was just a permanent laugh. One of the best films of this genre recently. Very funny, I put 8/10. Clearly people that say this film is bad do not understand that kind of B-movie. The kids and those like me that are still young in their mind, will enjoy the CGI eels. Much more fun than Breach, Gone Baby Gone, Jesse James, and other Michael Clayton that have all high scores, and bored me to death.

so people in B-movies don't user their guns to shoot the eels??

reply

I'm a long-time fan of the 'so good that it's bad' genre of horror films, but this was just dire.

@ ehayek, uh, who said "people in B-movies don't user their guns to shoot the eels?? "??? make sense man!

With cheap, direct to dvd monster movies you just have to try them. I go into them always expecting bad, but hoping for entertaining stupidity. Razortooth is definitely stupid and silly, but in this case I didn't care to finish it. Bottom line you can't always listen to opinions because you never know what you might find entertaining. I've heard "worst movie I've ever seen" so many times. I just don't get it. I've seen many many movies including some of the cheapest pieces of crap ever filmed and still haven't found the "worst movie I've ever seen". I hope to never find it actually. Instead, finding those that are "one of most awful things ever".

Very BAD !

In my opinion, it was a real HOOT! But then, my wife and I like silly Creature Featrues, and this one had the grace not to take itself seriously.

reply

I totally agree.I live in Florida so I can relate abit too all the surroundings that take place in this movie. This should just be enjoyed as it is..lighten up folks. It may be not close to the best but I have seen far worst.I think its a fun movie..you have to enjoy silly Creature Features like alot of people do including me.IT sure is different and refreshing to see an "eel" then all the snakes movies that have been made..abit of change is good.ummm,I wonder what is next in the near future,,I cant waite!!

reply

I have to agree too! The effects are laughably bad and all the characters are so over the top it's ridiculous, but that's also what kind of redeems it, at least to me! If this had taken itself the LEAST bit seriously it would have been a T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E movie.

But come on, a guy runs away from a monster while still awkwardly holding onto his coffee cup? TOO funny!

So in 1 word, is it GOOD or BAD?

TERRIBLE!

reply

Bad. But to elaborate (and thus violate the "in 1 word" topic rule), there are far worse. Flesh Freaks is an example of "the worst movie I have ever seen," while Razortooth is just a piece of crap. SyFy channel movie at best. I will give it credit for presenting me with a diabetic creature, as I don't think I have ever run across that before.

The monster eats one of the characters by eating her in her own shower and dragging her down the drain pipe... somehow. It pulls her through her own shower drain. Piece by piece. That may be the dumbest thing I've ever seen done in a horror movie. Then they kill the monster by injecting it with sugar.

So your one word would be 'bad'. 'Uber-bad' if I'm allowed to hyphenate.

Sek-wit-oar sounds like some kind of Greek monster, like a Minotaur with the head of a platypus.

Actually A_Probably_Postman's monster death is incorrect, did he turn the movie off with 7 minutes to go????

In one word: BAD. I love low budget horror & can forgive low budget special effects, but my problem with this movie is they wanted it to be campy, but their method was by having at least half the characters be over the top like the most annoying character at your local town playhouse. That "sometimes" works for one character at the town playhouse, but not when a dozen characters are all doing it in a movie. Even the "hero" seems like an outrageous idiot at the beginning when he goes into the diner with the rat traps. And the story & chemistry between the leads was awful.

The one thing I really liked was the creature design. Although it didn't always (in fact almost never) looked great on screen, the basic design was awesome.
